Why does he keep saying he likes me when he has a girlfriend?

Me and my friend met this guy, let's call him Steve (29-Jan-2011) at a club. She liked him from the beginning and told him that, a week after she made out with his best friend. But he told her that he's more attracted to me not her, so she kept making out with the best friend. And I thought Steve was good looking but that was it, I had other things on my mind back then. The four of us kept hanging out each time we saw each other in that club. We found out that he had a girlfriend for almost 2 years. Steve wanted to dance with me and bla bla, but I rejected him Because of the girlfriend and Because my friend liked him. His other friend kept pushing me to Steve and made hints that Steve might like me. His girlfriend broke up with him. Steve started to say that I am beautiful, nice, have nice breasts, that he likes me and is attracted to me and not just Because of the beasts and tongue piercing. He and his best friend like me and my friend as persons in general. And I'm started to really like him aswell. And I believe him what he says, he made his point several times. He made out with me. He gets back together with his girlfriend. He keeps saying he likes me and making a scene whenever I'm with another guy, how he doesn't like it, how much it's of a turn off, how much it sucks when the girl he likes makes out with some other guy etc. And recently he brought his girlfriend to the club, for the first time. I've never met her before. He left earlier with her and I danced with his best friend and he kissed (very short) me goodbye. A week later Steve kinda made a scene again, wanted to know if the kiss came from my part and then he brought up some old stories again and made a scene about things that were forgiven and forget... and it goes on and on and on. But he does have a girlfriend ! What the hell does he want from me ?!?!

He likes you, and he wants to have his cake and eat it.

Assuming he is the same age as you, he is at an age where lots of guys in long term relationships tend to have second thoughts. When you are 17/18 you are desperate to get a girlfriend, when you get to 19-21 you start to get a bit fed up, see all the other opportunities with girls passing you by, and start to get a bit curious.

Quite often they reach a point where they meet one girl who blows their mind, and they start to seriously compare her to their girlfriend and have serious doubts about the relationship. He probably reached this stage with you.

He likes you. He wouldn't have said all those things, and wouldn't be getting so obviously jealous if he didn't. His relationship with his girlfriend probably won't last much longer, but for now he is too scared to leave her permanently or just too comfortable in the relationship. In a comfort zone.

There isn't much you can do about this if you don't want to wreck their relationship, but just make it clear you like him in that way then make some distance between the two of you until he finishes it. On a more cynical level, messing with his friends will also make him seriously jealous!

- He knows that I like him and am attracted to him. And we flirt enormously, touching is on the regular basis. He said that I "seduced" him with the way I do things and the way I look and that I broke his heart lol but then at the end he said he's taken...

- And about messing with his friends/other guys... I don't see it as him being jealous he seems just really mad and angry... as if he wants me to just leave him alone for good lol

If he wasn't jealous he wouldn't care if you were messing with his friends.

If I was you I'd make it clear to him that he either dumps his girlfriend or you will stop flirting with him and stop giving him any attention. Then walk away, let him run after you.

If you hang around still, he'll keep thinking he can have his cake and eat it. Don't let him cheat on his girlfriend with you.

He wants sex. End of story. If you don't want to end up as the girl on the side, step away from him. Trust me, he will stick with her and use you for fun and games. He's already trying to do that and worse, he's a possessive cheater who wants to cheat on his girl but freaks when you, the single one, is with another guy. Creeper alert.
