One day afterschool, I told her I like her and asked her out. She said "I don't know". I think I might have SCARED or frightened her. She seems nervous, she kept looking at the ground and then back at me, then back to the ground, then back at me smiling. Then she totally changed the subject and we talked until her ride came.

So I waited a week and asked her again on the very last day of school. This time hoping not to frightened her, I asked her out to have smoothies some other time in the summer. She said "I don't know" and again she looked at the ground, then back at me smiling, then back to the ground, then back to me smiling. Then suddenly she said "okay... but only as FRIENDS". I was disappointed of course, but I said "sure". She gave me her number and we left. ----------BIG BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE. I should have walked away instead of saying "SURE".

Okay so right now here's my thought: she is expecting calls from me to "hang out as friends" in a day or 2 since I asked her for her number. But the thing is... I LIKE HER, I DON'T WANT TO BE HER FRIEND. I would be lying to myself and to her if I agree to be "FRIENDS" with her. But I was out of my mind and I said "sure"... stupid me...

Since she gave me her number on the last day of school, so I won't be seeing her for a long time...unless I called her to hang out over the summer... so should I ...

1. call her up to hang out, then tell her afterward that I can't be her friend if I like her and see how she responds (I guess being a jerk about it) or...

2. Call her number and tell her you can't be her friend (it would be weird because I agreed to be friends with her the first place). or...

3. COMPLETELY IGNORE HER NUMBER AND MOVE ON? (again... it would be weird the next following school year because I was the one that asked for her number and never calls )

so... wtf...what to do? Any suggestions?
