i just went through almost the exact same thing. I liked this guy sooo much but he lived too far away to visit regularly. we still talked every day and when he told me that he was seeing somebody I was really upset. I admit it, I tried to talk him out of it, but then I realized that there was no point, it wasn't like we could have a normal relationship. plus I didn't want to be that possessive jealous ex girlfriend. I gave it a little time without talking to him or seeing him (for about a month) and really tried to meet new guys. when I met my current boyfriend, who I really liked, I was able to start talking to the other guy without being weird. its great, now I have a boyfriend, and a really great friend!

well that's tough. if you still want to be friends with her then go ahead! maybe this guy won't last for long and she might decide to see you again. but if you feel like being friends with her is killing you u should stop talking to her
I would just say to try and put it behind you which I know will be hard. You could be on standby and see how it all works out with him and this other guy. On the other hand, it will leave you disappointed and longing for her to return which probably won't happen. She views you as a friend and that's probably how it will stay, especially since she lives a bit away and isn't seeing you on regular basis. Tough luck man, I'm so sorry. Try to just meet new people to help you put the past behind. It's the best thing you can do for yourself.
Tough happening there guy. I'll have to vote forgetting her and moving on yourself. I really believe that the idea of friendship and exes don't mix.
