He Never Initiates Contact

I've had this crush on a guy for a few months now, and recently went out on a great date with him (I asked). Before the date, I wasn't sure if he liked me back, but after, I'm pretty sure he does on some level now. The thing is, I've always been the one to initiate contact (inviting him places, texting, etc) and while he's always responded positively and acts very touchy feely when we actually are together physically (always hugging me, touching my hand), I'm starting to tire of it.

A week ago, I texted him asking him to give me a call back but he hasn't yet, and I haven't contacted him since. We had finals last week and I know that he has a part time job, too, and I also understand that nothing's really happened between the two of us yet so I don't expect to be a top-top priority in his life right now, but.

I'm a straight forward type of girl so I have no problem being the first to text/call/ or whatever, BUT it would be nice to receive one of those things sometime instead of giving. Any advice as to what I should do with this boy? Should I try to wait a while, and then text him again, or should I do something else?

I'm an absolute beginner to these kinds of things, so any advice is appreciated! :)

• Never initiates calls or texts –when does always general like “where are you guys” or “I need some information” - nothing to say hello now and again

• Never makes or accepts plans for lunch or anything else

• Avoids contact where in past was always around

• When does talk its always about self or asks advise on projects nothing about your life

• Never wants to be alone with you

• When or if responds to text or calls – takes very long and is very brief. 4 word sentences or 30 second call and states needs to go

• You offer small gifts every now and again as a friendly “just thinking about them”, they never do

• They set rules when you can call or text them

• They say nothing of value – like “ hope all is well”, “awesome dude”, “was just thinking of you”, or “Thanks for that”, never leading into a conversation

• They break plans without suggesting an alternate date like “no, sorry I have plans” when asking to set them

• If they don’t know how to answer something they avoid the question all together rather than discussing it

Most people who want to have no friendship or anything else will show most of the above signs. Just Move on to another that gives back to you as what you put into it. It’s a two way street.

As a suggestion, delete the persons number from your phone book as to avoid a hunger to reach out to them. If they want to speak to you, they will initiate contact. And if they ever do contact you, follow their conversation. If they write a 3 word conversation you do the same and only reply once or twice then just stop.

I know what you are talking about. Just stop sending him text. If he thinks you are important to him and he likes you he would initiate contact, don't worry. If he doesn't forget him, because you cannot really get him interested by pushing. I mean the thing is that it's always okay to send messages if you want to but you want to make sure if he is interested before spending all your emotional energy on him.

I would just ask him flat out why he never initiate the contacts. Tell him your feeling and if he doesn't show interested in this friendship/relationship then you're going to stop contact him period. Give him a chance to respond before you move on because he is not a mind reader and I don't think he is thinking of all. Some guys just see as a game and want to see how long will this girl keep contacting them, but that very small percent of men, even thought they argue back and said " I respond to every of her contact." so talk to the dude first.

My question on this thing is almost identical to yours. I say be yourself. Maybe give him a couple days to text you. If he doesn't then yes, what a jerk! But, if your still interested; text him. Your a friendly person. Once something does happen and the relationship progresses express that you would like him to text you more often. For now, be yourself, don't play games. Eventually he'll let you know where you stand.
