My girlfriend never initiates contact, but she is very responsive what does that mean?

my girlfriend never actually takes time to ask about me like regular "how are u doing "questions , but in the same time she is responsive whenever i talk to her. But it's like if i don't ask about her she may forget me. I decided not to talk to her for a 5 days now and she never asked what does that mean and is there is a possibility she is just shy or cannot come with a good reason to initiate contact?
We both are taurus i think we both have problem initating contact.
I know this doesn't seem like a problem , but i cannot just keep asking about her feeling she maybe not comfortable talking to me.

Does she never ask about you? Is every conversation about her? If so, she's a narcissist. You'll either have to come to terms with it, or bail.
If she's into you, she'll demonstrate her interest. Maybe she's shy, or even unsure of where she stands with you. Maybe she's very old-fashioned. We're not terribly far removed from a time when women only spoke when spoken to. If it doesn't work for you that she never initiates conversation, let her know that. She can't fix something if she doesn't know it's broken. Be open & honest, and give her the opportunity to do the same. If it's a character trait and not a choice, it will take a while to change, if she can change at all. Be patient and know that you may eventually have to decide if it's a deal breaker or not. Frankly, it's probably no big deal. Most women love to talk about almost anything, she'll probably come around.

It isn't really a deal breaker and i don't even like to talk about myself all the time, but i wanna make sure she is really putting an effort and i think i will talk to her about it.

Don't take this as 100% but for my experience it's cause she has trouble expressing emotions to you and is unable to relax around you because she's afraid to do/say something to make you dislike her or that's how it was for me once

Not saying your scary and she probably wants to be THE GIRL for you so she ends up sheltering some part of herself to look more cool/clingy when normally she would've been a lot more out going and joke a lot AND she probably feels like SERIOUSLY awkward. My advice to stop this is be more silly yourself instead of being serious because if you show her that she can be carefree and silly around you as well she might open up more and she might even like you more. In short just dont try to hard and make her laugh
