Why does a man tell his woman that she is the most beautiful woman in the world?

My sweetheart frequently calls me "gorgeous" and "sexy" -- every day, in fact, and typically several times a day.  He tells me that I'm the most beautiful woman in the world.  However, I KNOW for a fact that I'm not the most beautiful woman in the world.  I have many flaws and am nowhere near perfect.  Just open a magazine or look through a Victoria's Secret catalog, and there are hundreds of other women FAR more beautiful than me.  Why do guys stretch the truth like that?  Is it just that they see the whole "package" in you?  That in their eyes, you ARE the most beautiful inside and out -- rather than in a superficial way?  Don't get me wrong.  I love to hear these things from my honey.  It does also remind me, though, of how NOT perfect I am. . .

Well that's just a general statement really - you know when you have friends casually say

" man, your the coolest person in the whole world - "

or something like that?

Same difference. Women like to be told we are attractive; men know this - and so he will use that information to try and make you know that he is indeed very attracted to you, and to also make you feel good about yourself.

In all honesty - having the man who really loves you say that, is a whole lot more powerful than some random dude trying to get a piece to say it.

Say thank you / compliment back, and go on with life.

And yea, there will always be someone hotter than you, and hotter than your husband.

But he choose you over them, and you choose him over all the other studs.

There's more to it than trying to be the hottest thing in the world.

Hell.

Why do you care? Seriously, if you have been together some time, he may think you ARE that beautiful. I have known my girlfriend for about twelve years, and I think she is my complete soul-mate. There is no other woman I'd rather have around me, even though I know there are many women more beautiful (this is true of nearly every woman). We have our difficulties, and her daughter is a little hormone-driven hellion, but even so I'm hoping they will be moving in with me in the next few months because I want to fall asleep beside her every night from now on. Your sweetie probably feels much the same way about you, so don't fight it. You may have your flaws - everyone does, but with time they become totally unimportant. so enjoy his adulations. Note: You don't say, but the above no longer applies if you have a gazillion dollars in the bank and he's broke =-)

Guys appreciate the lady that they can call their own. They will tell them they are the most special girl in the world, no one is more beautiful because they want their girls to feel wanted and attractive, hard to actually explain how instinctual and loving a man can be if they have someone by their side.

Take it as the best complement you can ever receive and never let the man forget how much you love them after they tell you this. Sometimes confirmation is the best feeling for a man, they he's doing the right thing and that his lover actually indeed loves him and needs him.
