I am a shy and quiet guy and there is a chatty girl in the office I work at who teases and jokes with me and a couple of other guys. This has caused some of the guys I work with to try and set me up with her; by telling her that I want to ask her out but is too scared to ask and to give me her number etc (she has never said no, she just gets embarrassed). Now she has started talking to me more.
I’m not sure if she likes me, but maybe she only talks to me out of pity which happens a lot when you’re shy because people feel the need to talk with you to make you feel wanted. There are multiple other girls at work who joke with me but I don’t get the same vibe from them. I always find it hard to believe anyone would find me attractive, though friends have said I’m attractive and if I talked more girls would like me more. But now she thinks I like her so I’m not sure if she flirts with me not because I think she likes me (shy is unattractive, girls like outgoing) but because I like her, which is humiliating for me because she’s flirting with me out of pity not out of interest. Now I feel more pressured to talk to her so I’m not this guy who is too scared to talk to her or rather not to talk to her because she is not interested (but if she is, I’m then ignoring her). One example when I was leaving the office she called out my name and said bye in front of the office with a cheeky smile. Would a girl do this to bring attention to herself and let the whole office know that she likes me, but rather to tease me?
