Why do I let boys distract me?

I'm currently at uni and I've been doing really well. The first semester I didn't let myself get distracted by anything so I made school and work my main priorities. Towards the end of the semester I was making new friends and going to parties. I've met a lot of guys and started to crush on one of them. Now this semester I just get so distracted by constantly thinking about my crush when I should be focused on school work. I don't know how to snap out of it. This used to happen in high school also and it affected my performance. Everything in my life is going good but for some reason when I think about the guy I like I forget how good my life is going and I feel all upset and let it distract me from what is important. Is this normal or totally bizarre?

totally normal. i've been experiencing the same thing. totally failing second semester now (like, for real). it can't be helped because your mind is just going to wander to the thoughts of him no matter what. it's perfectly normal though. right now, more than high school, is when sexual tension and attraction feels more intense than ever and that feeling will become like a drug to you so your mind involuntarily wanders to the thoughts of him

It's called hormones. They sure are problematic, especially in a serious setting. A lot of girls go through what you are going through, don't feel weird.

Ok, it's just most people are all like "Now is not the time to think about these things, just focus on your studies." I try to but I just can't help myself.

it's normal... most girls get distracted by guys... so what do you prefer more? you have to decide... your performance at college or looking at guys? :-)

Sure you do. You just don't think it's fun to realize you can't have them. Reality sorta sucks.
