Why did he force me to hug him?

So at church everyone usually hugs to meet and greet but I dont want to hug guys anymore because I feel uncomfortable with hugs especially front hugs and sometimes I feel guys take it too far and they touch my hips and I don't like that. So I told this guy at church I dont want to hug and he thinks I'm overreacting and forced me to hug him. I was so shocked I didn't know what to do. I dont want to make a scene but should I yell at him or slap him next time he does it?

Keep your distance, even within Christian groups there is the occasional creep. Any guy who you aren't comfortable with you shouldn't be forced to hug. If he tries to force you to hug him again then talk to someone about it, perhaps someone he considers a mentor. he may not mean to make you uncomfortable and be trying to be friendly, but he is in the wrong.
