Why would boyfriend bury his head and pull me close when he is sleeping?

He fell asleep in bed with me watching movie. We were both dressed. In his sleep he pulled me very close to him and rested his head in the area between my neck and cleavage with his arms around me. Why would he do this? Looking for comfort? Cares for me? My ex never used to cuddle me so affectionately.
