Not at all. During high school, I had a big crush on a girl and typed lol and haha a ton in texts. It was because I wanted to keep the conversation semi light when it needed to be light. It also said that you are interested in the conversation a bit in my opinion.

Not at all. If he didn't , the message would appear cold. Lol's and haha's are good because they bring warmth and friendliness to a message.

typing "lol" and "haha" are mainly done to lighten up the mood of the conversation. people are rarely ever actually laughing, if anything they smiled.

All of his responses are longer, he occasionally double and triple texts, even when I take awhile to answer he stills replies. Normally if I reply quick he replies quick but if I take closer to an hour he does the same thing. When we were texting a couple days ago we were talking about something then he snapchatted me first. Last time we were talking I said something and he replied and at the end of his reply he put lol and then a grimace face (😬) is that bad? And based off of what I wrote is there a possibility he's interested?

nope I don't think it is actually bad, he may have been mimicking your time frame of responding back to not come off as desperate. generally, we can assume guys who invest more into the person they are talking too have some potential interest. so there is a good chance he may be into you.

The only thing is he doesn't ever really initiate. Other than him snapchatting me first when we were texting he's never initiated the conversation. Should I continue to initiate or is he not interested and that's why he doesn't?

if you were always the first one to initiate the texting then he just may be used to that pattern by now so it doesn't necessarily mean he isn't into you.

don't worry about that, whatever happens you will learn from it and gain experience for the next one. the first guy you meet won't be your last, most likely. so just learn from this while being yourself and see what happens.
