Why does he only text me at night?

This guy I've been texting only texts me at like around 10 or 11 pm. I've noticed he's like barely ever on his phone when I see him in person and in class but he is on it every now and then, but even if I were to text him earlier that day he wouldn't text me back until at least 10 or 11 and when he does he answers back immediately until one of us says goodnight and it's not like it's dirty like he doesn't ask for pictures or anything it's just confusing and frustrating I have to wait till night for a text. So what could be reasons he does this?

For one, he might be scared. He might not want to say the wrong thing in a text message and therefore he doesn’t text you that much. Text messages are written out, clear as day, and can be accessed repeatedly. Unlike during an in person conversation, if he says something stupid, you've nailed him.

You have the words written down before your eyes and they are there to be contemplated. Whereas during an in person conversation, they are said once and gone.

Therefore when you text, you have to make sure that you choose exactly the right words, this can scare boys away from even trying.

If you know this is not the case because he has texted you plenty of times during the day before, then you still do not have to worry yet. He could be very busy. So busy he cannot find the time to text you, let alone the time to see you during the day.

Even if he does have enough time to text you but doesn’t, it still might not be a bad sign. He could feel that you two are past the point of texting back and forth with small talk, and decide to save all those conversation topics for later when he is free and able to see you in person.

He's not attached to his phone. My ex asked recently why I always text him at 11-12pm and it's simply because when I get into bed, I go on my phone for about half an hour and reply to everyone. I rarely use my phone in the day, only for work reasons. I believe this guy does the same.

I do think he is a little like this like I honestly think I've only seen him on his phone a couple of times in the time I've known him

Hey may want to be able to sit down and put all of his attention on you so he waits for night when he does not have anything else going on. That is more or less what my girlfriend and I do.
