Not all of them are like that... it depends where you go. I go to a a technical institute and almost all of us are pretty nerdy individuals and I don't see the behavior you're describing. Maybe because nerds are awesome?

I think most people in college are immature regardless of their gender.
I was just hoping they'll be at least a bit less immature than in high school, seems like they might not, after all...

Because they are still children when it comes to maturity. They usually don't hit adulthood until their late 20's or early 30's as far as maturity is concerned.
Yes what you described is probably 75 percent of guys your are and the rest are looking for a LTR
Most college guys are jocks or are drunk most of the time... the quiet ones, the smart ones, are in their dorm rooms... or the library.
Counter over generalization: Their female counterparts are hardly any better. Don't use the L word if you don't mean it, unsure or scouting for better
