For the somewhat average, successful, educated young guy, how do your feelings about a girl change as her weight goes up by a factor of 10lbs?
140-230. Opinions?
Weight just how big of a deal breaker is it:
If you are saying a guy is not in a relationship with you, in general terms, he might be a bit more judgmental, but not necessary see it as a deal breaker depending on how significantly heavy or light that person is. E.g. Guys may find a girl who is obese a big deal breaker because he doesn't see a common lifestyle between both of them. Still, this depends on the geographical social culture and the guy's upbringing. Some who are very cautious about the girl's weight and prefer a slim girl would find it a big deal breaker should the girl put on weight (especially significantly), but others probably wouldn't if the degree of increase or decrease in weight is not too much (10lbs of increase is not too much. in fact they won't even notice much unless you tell them about it) :)
If you are saying a guy is already in a relationship with you, they might be slightly more flexible with your weight and don't see it as a major deal breaker, especially if both of you have been together for quite some time.
Now, because you put it in such as a way that the weight "goes up by a factor of 10lbs", I'm not sure whether you've increase 10lbs in weight, or in multiples of 10lbs. If I didn't misinterpret your question, and if the weight has increased from 140lbs to 230lbs given you are say 5'5, then you need to shed weight, not because guys will see it as a deal breaker, but for your own sake. I've seen many guys who still go after girls with more weight, but what may truly be the deal breaker for the guy is the factor (that caused your increase in weight, be it emotional or personal problems) putting some strain/causing some problems in the relationship, rather than the weight itself.
Word of advice: Find someone who like you for who you truly are. Most importantly, live a lifestyle that you are happy with, and stay healthy be it physically, mentally or emotionally :) x
Well, here's how I look at it. I love women with curves so I will tell you now a woman at 5'8 and 120 lbs is LESS attractive than one at 160 lbs and JUST AS unattractive as one at 240 lbs. Curves = feminity, the only one that wants you to be stick-thin are model agencies and the media. 140-160 = HOT 160-180 = HOTTER 180-200 = SORT OF HOT (depending on where the weight is distributed: legs/butt/hips/breasts = good belly = bad. 200-230 = NOT SO HOT (it's here where the woman's body loses her curves because weight goes to the belly, depending on height of course, a 6'0 tall women would be fine at 200-230, but not a 5'7 one). On that note, even women above 200lbs can be sexy, they just need to NOT where baggy / loose fitting clothing. That totally turns off a guy, and a girl can be potentially sexy at 200lbs if she would wear some tight clothing that emphasizes her curves. But typically that's not the case, they figure since they're fat there is no chance of being sexy so mind as well be comfortable. Its not true, curves are what make a woman sexy, ask any man. One clothing item that works well on heavy women are corsets, because it decreases belly size appearnce and shows off curves (granted you don't cover the corset with something baggy, then we just can't tell).
Yes I have, as long as she dresses tight and sexy she's hot. I've dated all types of women of all weight ranges, including one 5'4 at 170 lbs, she was really hot. Of course guys carry weight differently that's obvious. All guys are differnet though and just like how I like tall girls, other guys like short girls, same with weight, some like the stick thin thing, some don't.
10 lbs. is nothing, on the other hand a girl of above average weight is a turn off, to me it signifies her lack of self control and to me that is a turn off. I like a girl who is curvy, no doubt. I love a girl with a little more meat on her bones but if you let it get out of hand then to me that unattractive. It all depends on the guy I suppose, I'm immediately attracted to fitter looking girls...i guess its because I work out a lot and I think fitness is something that's not really reinforced. Girls are supposed to at least have 12% body fat because of their genetic makeup etc. but to me that's no reason to not stay active and healthy.

Its a pretty big deal for me, I mean it is one of those unbreakable rules, she can have a big nose, no boobs, no butt, but if she is fat I won't go out with her. I think must men can agree with me when I say that. You don't have to have the perfect weight, but if you are overweight, it would be pretty difficult for me to like you. I mean its not you cannot control your own weight, that is why I am pretty hard when it comes to weight. Plus I work out too, so if I workout to keep myself look good, I expect my girl to do the same.
10lbs? In the whole scheme of things that's not a lot. Weight is never a factor for me really. It's what they're like to talk to. What do we have in common, are they funny. That being said, I am on the heavy side as well, and, sitting from the other side of the fence, normally girls don't give me two looks, so normally I resort to pure reckless bravery.
*shrugs* whatever, I'll work out with her and we can both stay fit together. As long as her personality is awesome. But I guess so large where she can't do anything would suck :\ just want to try and stay healthy after all (her and me).
Well, if you're 2 feet tall you'd be dead from a coronary. If you're 6'10'' you'd be dead from malnourishment. Specifics please? Also could you include pictures of the type of figure you are.
I won't date a girl who has any stomach puffing from her jeans, or if her legs start to wrinkle.
if a girl puts on 10lbs I would barely notice.
If she looked good b4 the 10lbs she still will and if she didn't, she'll look slightly fatter obviously.
its a big deal to fit guys, not a big deal to non fit guys I think...
Average is fine, I just don't want someone who has a naturally lethargic lifestyle and thus a large body...
