You can literally trim about 110lbs of fat in about 6 months if you are dedicated. At your weight, the fat would melt off easily. The only thing making that impossible is the fact you might quit. Don't worry about the rest of the weight. Worry about maximizing your first 6 months and seeing results.

1. You absolutely positively must fix your diet. You will lose no weight whatsoever if you keep eating bad foods and large portions. It doesn't matter if you run for 2 hours every day. If you cap that workout off with McDonalds, it's all for not. Click this link for a PDF of foods that should be the staple of your diet. link
2. Be disciplined. It doesn't matter if you had a great workout and had the best day of cardio ever. Don't "reward" yourself with ice cream and cookies. Be strict on your diet. Diet Diet Diet. I will say it over and over because it's so important that you stop feeding yourself crap.
3. Get at least 2 hours of cardio done each day. Power walk or ride your bike. Keep your legs moving and your heart pumping. Try to sprint if you can, and when you get tired just keep walking. When your heart rate is high enough, you enter a calorie burning threshold. In those moments when your heart rate is high, you are literally melting off fat. Combine this fat burn with a strict diet, and you'll literally shrink overnight.
4. Lift light weights with 20+ repetitions. Get your muscles involved. It's nothing too strenuous, just learn some basic dumbell exercises. Here is a routine that only requires 1 dumbell:
5. Be angry. You will not improve yourself unless you hate what you see. You have to learn to hate how fat you are, and yearn for change. That said, if you've done your body right for an entire day, you can sleep soundly and tomorrow will be even better. It's all about building CONSECUTIVE days of success so your body is constantly melting away fat. Don't REST. You aren't doing anything hard yet. Do the same thing every day and you'll get results.

Your looking about a 3 month start-up to even start loosing weight.
At around 40 a year at regular pace, 3 years.
You should be shooting lower...around 180
Also, subtract 10-20 lbs on top of your goal...because you'll rebound when you stop exercising...
how long did it take to gain that 200 lbs? generally it takes as long to take it off as long as it takes to put it on. did I word that right? well if it took 2 years to put on it will take 2 years (if not longer) to lose it. that is if you do it safely (please do if you don't you will gain in right back). don't go on those no carb diets or crash diets either they screw up your body for life just excersise, cut down on portions size and eat healthier foods. good luck!
Check out this link and work it out for yourself, although don't be stupid and eat any less then around 1100-1300 cal a day (although that's based on height and weight and your amount of physical activity). Also set yourself a realistic time frame. The link does that for you too:, good luck:)

I lost 65 in a year and I have 20 to go BUT I was taking it slow so I THINK if you're more strict you could lose 80 a year , by the way what's your height ? you might not need to be 120 pounds. Good luck , message me if you need any advice or help.

It will take about 4 years.
That is the honest truth.
I am assuming you want the weight to stay off?
If you rush it, you'll fail. Even doing it slowly, you will hit many plateaus where you stop losing weight. You'll have times when you backslide a bit. And at various points your boy will have to adjust to a smaller size, over and over.
Aim to lose 50lbs a year, or 1lb per week. 52 weeks in a year. Any dietitian or nutritionist would tell you 1lb a week is safe and doable.
Anyone saying it can be done quicker is bullsh*tting you. There are faster ways to lose weight, but not 200lbs. And not without it coming back.A little less than four years it you do it the way it should be done. You shouldn't lose more than a pound a week or else your body will freak out and just put the weight back on -- that's why just never eating will never work. I would suggest limiting your calories to 1800-2000 a day and getting at least 30 min of exercise a day.
around one to two years, join an exercise group as well as working out on your own so that other peoiple can encourage you :) keep thinking about why you are doing this. good luck!
Ugh at first it would loose every quickly and after that period it may be difficult to loose weight :( so the most important is persist you will make it!
It could be done in 2 years, if that 120 is within your frame/height healthy range. Losing on average 2 pounds a week is a healthy lose rate and is not hard to do.
It would probably take a year or two of really solid hard work toward losing the weight.
a couple years...try setting your goal smaller like 20 lbs. when you lose that much you will feel better then thinking I still need to lose 180 more pounds...you will beable to hit your goal with lots of hard work and eating right:) good luck :D
could be done in less than ten months but I think in 20 months would be safer and more healthy
a year at least maybe longer and that would be like a strict lifestlye
Stop saying you need to lose 200 pounds. Start with you need to lose 20 lbs. and go slow
