Thanksgiving is every foodie's favorite holiday - and for good reason, the food is incredible! From turkey and stuffing to pumpkin pie and sweet potatoes, everyone has a favorite Thanksgiving dish.

Turkey Day Favorites - The Results Are In!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we decided to poll the GAG Community to get a feel for what everyone's Turkey Day tastes are. More than 6,000 responses rolled in, with guys and girls from all over the US weighing in to vote for their favorite Thanksgiving dishes. Check out the individual polls and results below:

Baked Turkey vs. Fried Turkey

Baked turkey swept the polls, taking 55% of the votes (1210) from both girls and guys. Fried turkey trailed behind, raking in only 18% of votes (404) from girls and guys.

Stuffing vs. Dressing

The results are clear, 50% of girls and guys (616) prefer stuffing as a Turkey Day side dish, while only 19% of girls and guys (238) chose dressing as their favorite.

Mashed Potatoes vs. Sweet Potatoes

Surprisingly enough, only 24% of girls and guys (402) voted sweet potatoes as their favorite Thanksgiving side dish, but an overwhelming 58% of girls and guys (973) claimed mashed potatoes as their top pick.

Pumpkin Pie vs. Pecan Pie

Nothing says "Happy Thanksgiving" like a nice slice (or three) of pumpkin pie, and the GAG Community agrees; 45% of girls and guys (502) chose pumpkin pie as their favorite Turkey Day sweet treat, while only 21% of girls and guys (236) were partial to pecan pie.

Turkey Day Tips

From the looks of the results, Thanksgiving is going to be quite delicious this year. Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you're indulging on your third helping of turkey and pumpkin pie:

  1. Beware of Tryptophan: This is the secret ingredient in turkey that makes you sleepy. If you fall asleep before securing your leftovers, you could risk missing out on some serious deliciousness.

  2. Wear Stretchy Pants: Jeans, belts, and any type of bottom with buttons or zippers will only slow you down. On Thanksgiving, you need as much give as you can get. Ladies, opt for yoga pants or leggings, and guys, embrace the many joys of sweat pants. You can thank us later.

  3. Try Something New: Don't be afraid of new dishes at this year's Thanksgiving Day feast; welcome them with open arms (er... open mouths). You might surprise yourself and wobble away from the dinner table with a brand new favorite.
