Kisses, often represented as "X" at the end of messages, can carry various meanings depending on the context and the relationship between the individuals involved. Here's an exploration based on my experience:
In many cases, sending kisses signifies affection and warmth. It's a way to convey care and fondness, similar to a friendly hug or a peck on the cheek in person. In some contexts, sending kisses can be common among close friends, especially in certain cultures. It's a way to express the strength of the friendship bond. In more intimate or romantic relationships, kisses can take on a deeper meaning. They may be a sign of romantic affection and attraction, akin to a kiss on the lips. Cultural norms and regional practices can influence the use of kisses in messages. In some cultures, it's customary to send kisses even in platonic interactions. Some individuals have their own texting style, and sending kisses might be part of their regular communication pattern, irrespective of the level of affection or intimacy.
It's essential to consider the broader context of your relationship with the person and the consistency in their messaging behavior. If you're unsure about the meaning, you can always inquire or pay attention to other cues in the conversation to gauge their intentions accurately. In most cases, kisses are a friendly and affectionate gesture, but the degree of affection can vary widely.

How many kisses and their meaning (in my book):
0 kisses means you have annoyed me or I don't like, or very very very rushed and don't have time to text. Basically it means give me some space till I'm calm/got more time.
1 kiss is my go to polite gesture. If I haven't tons of time a quickie on the end is fine, and nobody can complain I didn't give them kisses. It doesn't indicate that you are special in my book.
2 kisses means that you mean something to me, either your an old friend, or we have known each other a long time, I share some kind of relationship with you. Aka I didn't meet you yesterday!
3 kisses you are close to me. This can be a close friend or boyfriend, a boyfriend will always get standard 3 kisses from me.
Any more, and I love you/you've made me extremely happy!
Of course, there are some girls out there who go kiss crazy and always xxxxxxxxxxxxxx their heart out.
Has she always given you lots of kisses or has it been building up recently?
Depends. For me:
x mean's I'm thinking about it (most guys who haven't really established their role in my life e.g freindzone/interest get this one)
Xx means nothing (we're friends/friend zoned. I give two kisses automatically)
Xxx means we're really good friends (and I felt like giving you extra kisses. Guy friends never get more than 2 though).
Xxxo Means oh lordy I must reaaally like you (and tbh this is for best friends only)
When it comes to decoding the meaning behind kisses on the end of messages, there are a few schools of thought. Some people believe that it simply means the person is friendly and wants to sign off on a positive note. Others believe that it could mean anything from "I like you" to "I love you" – it all depends on the context of the message and the relationship between the two people.
So, what does the research say? Well, a study published in the journal Computers in Human Behavior found that people who use kisses on the end of their texts tend to have more positive relationships with the recipient. In other words, it's not just a friendly gesture – it could be a sign that the person really cares about you.
Of course, it's not always easy to read too much into a text message, and you shouldn't necessarily assume that every kiss means the person is head-over-heels in love with you. But if you're wondering whether those kisses on the end of messages mean anything, the answer is – they just might!
A girl once sent me this:
XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I take it that's good?

No, not really. I use kisses to my guy friends who I am not the least bit interested in, and to everyone else. It's a British thing or may just be a show of friendliness. But one thing I would look for to see if they like you is to see if they mirror YOUR texting habits. So if you send two 'xx' on the end of your texts and they also send two 'xx'. Then if you cut it down to one 'x' and they do the same, etc... it means they're probably paying close attention and wanting to impress you.
It still isn't a definite sign though, but it's looking promising if they do that.
Yes and no!
Now here the thing... if someone is just my friend and nothing more and I am comfortable with that and with them they get X.
When I know them better they get XX
When you are one of my best friends you get XXX
This applies to girls and guys (im strait btw) but mostly girls get xx even if they are bestest ever freind.
But if you are a guy that I like and facncy then you don't get X unless you give me X
Cause I don't want to freak them out!
If they start giving me X they get X
If they give me XX or XXX then they get X or XX :)
Make sense?! lol
Although recently a guy who gave me XXX when saying hello or goodnight got NOthing!
Becuase I don't think he would have liked it we were doing the whole weere gona f*** someday but not in a relationship! :)Not necessarily.
If she's European as example it's very typical to end a conversation with hugs & kisses. Means nothing.
If she likes an idea or something as she's an ex she's more likely to send an kiss emoji versus a hug or thumbs up a woman unknown to you would.
If the conversation isn't worth a kiss & why you're questioning it, it likely means nothing.
Maybe it is her way of telling you to kiss off? Or maybe to show she has no bad feeling about the break up. I mean it's better than this at the end...
I sent one 😘at the end of a sentence sometimes during an argument/fight with a friend, then I mean them in a cocky way.
Except that I only sent them to my mother or my boyfriend, in both cases to point out that I love them. The amount doesn't really matter much here, but I mostly sent three at a time xDI litteraly can't speak for all girls, but for me it doesn't mean anything i just want to be friendly and nice nothing more. When i write with female friends we always use this emoji 😘 but yea for me it means nothing and if it means something the one of the receiving end already know it so ♥
I always put kisses at the end of text messages. But if she never usually adds an 'x' at then end, and has recently started doing so, she's probably into you.
I don't know depends where you are from.. I never put kisses on anything I write unless I was flirting but it would be a kissing emoji.. if you are from Britain tho most women put x on the end of all messages..
I don't usually put kesses at the end of texts but when I do it means I wanna f*** you.
*most interesting man in the world toast*Look @Paris13 and how she “xxoo”s every message, doesn’t mean anything if it’s watered down. Less is more.
You’re stupid for getting back with an ex if you didn’t figure out what the core of the problem was. How are you so timid about it if you’ve already been with her?
If she’s meeting up with you and spending time together in person and then she kisses you hugs you or even strips you then to me you have her back in your life. I’m getting back with my ex girlfriend too at the moment and I’m getting xx on the end of texts every day. But when we meet up in person is a lot better and to me more meaningful. If her kisses are very passionately in person love her.. look after her. That’s what I’m doing..
Talk is cheap my friend. Texts are even cheaper! If you want something meaningful, ask her if she wants to meet up. If she meets with you, THAT means something. If you want something more meaningful try to kiss her. If she kisses you, THAT is meaningful. Good luck!
For me it does. I'm always careful what I'm doing so I don't get misinterpreted and if I put a kiss, it means a kiss (to guys never friendly meaning just as sign of interest)
I guess so for girls who do it.
Personally, I think it's lame as hell. Texting the word "Kisses" doesn't even compare to a real kiss and it's just corny in a non-charming way.No, not really. It’s just like a full stop for me at the end of a message. Sometimes i don’t send any - that also doesn’t mean anything for me.
Depends, I'll always send one unless I'm messaging my boss or someone similar but multiple maybe it depends on the person and if they usually send them.
I'm surprised by the answers to this question. Honestly emojis don't mean anything nowadays. Some people send kisses to friends or their acquaintances in every text message.
They are complete an utter crap , read stuff into shit like this and you will do your head in , concentrate on the real and keep your game plan in order.
id say don't read too much into her writing, read into her own words coming out of her mouth
If it's from an ex, it can be very confusing. Are you meeting up in person and spending time together yet?
