In December I joined a dating site and met a guy who works in Afghanistan. When he came home in February we hung out, and then he left in March. We talked almost everyday, but after he returned home things changed. I wanted to end things but he said he was having a family crisis, but after a couple days I got fed up and went off on him. I wasn't expecting to hear from him but he replied and actually apologized but said he wasn't ready for a relationship and wants to be friends because he "loves" having me in his life.
I'm not wondering why or if I did anything wrong or if I can change his mind. What I want to know is why does he want me? He says he still likes me and cares about me and everything he said before was true, but why does he want a friendship after everything?
He is going back overseas soon, and I'm home for summer so we haven't been able to hang out yet. I'm pretty positive he is still using his dating account and talking to other girls, so to me his wanting me to be in his life doesn't make sense. I'm also not sure if I want to keep him in mine yet.
