Why won't my boyfriend call me beautiful...

Only today a lady commented that I look beautiful and that my dress was pretty dress too - he was standing right next to me and ignored her comments. We've been dating 5 months and he's never told me I'm beautiful or pretty, and I don't understand why he wouldn't want to say this to me. I know that I am not bad looking so being ugly isn't the issue. Most people would find him average looking (but he's gorgeous to me!) and I tell him all the time he looks good. Why wouldn't you tell your girlfriend she's beautiful? What do you think?

Is he the shy type? Maybe he isn't comfortable yet to let his guard down to being completelt loveydovey yet. Besides.. You know you're attractive. You don't need a guy telling you something you are already well aware of! ;) lol I know it can be frustrating cause you really want him to say it but try and give him a bit more time.. See if its that he isn't really comfy yet to express it.

Some people just aren't as comfortable giving out compliments or they see no need to. I'm going to guess its just his personality. He's been with you for 5 months so I'm sure he finds you attractive.

Some people were just not raised to compliment other people, be positive or show much affection. Sounds like he's one of these people. I'm sure he thinks you look good or else he probably wouldn't be dating you. Say something about how youve noticed he's never told you you look good and ask him what he thinks. Maybe that will get his attention.

I know because that's how I am. I was raised with 2 brothers in a family that fought a lot plus some troubles growing up so l wasn't raised to be very touchy feely. lm very emotional so l tend to feel very strongly whatever mood lm in but compliments and the such are hard to come by. I wish l wasn't this way but that's me.

1. I wouldn't call a girl beautiful unless I were to marry her...pretty is a different thing though

2. If you know you're good looking and he knows that you think this, you won't need to be told it. Why should he have to?

Really why wouldn't you tell her she's beautiful unless you were going to marry her...? Other people tell me I'm good looking and I wonder if he doesn't see me like that... Maybe I'm not to him :( and if he does why wouldn't he tell me? Or at least tell me I'm pretty...

sometimes it's nice to hear someone esp your date/bf telling you, "you're beautiful" once in a while... unless he doesn't see it that way.

He's probably going off the assumption that you don't need it, which is a good thing.
