Hooked up with my ex, what does it mean?

So my ex girlfriend broke up with me about 6 months ago because of some communication and distance issues (she was going to college out of state).

She still is attending this college, but is back home for the summer and we have hung out twice.

The first meeting was just a friendly catch up, but with plenty of flirting. I have been pretty confident about being single as of late and was acting quite good. I called her later that week asking her to a movie, which she agreed to.

Anyway after the movie, I drove her home and she invites me insides to check out the house she is house sitting. Things lead to things, and I end up spending the night with her and having some great sex.

Next morning, things were very great, not awkward or sad. We hung out in the backyard and played with the dog and shot frisbees. I had to leave for work, but as I'm leaving I tell her how much I enjoyed seeing her and how I'd like to see her again..

She says "I don't want to go through 'this' again" (meaning dating). I got the impression she has moved on a bit more emotionally than I have.

So. Do girls have sex with guys they dump just because they can? Is it something more? How do I go about handling this?

p.s. I noticed her bookmark was a letter I wrote her about 6 months ago, and she reads daily. Also, she told me (and I definitely believe her) she hadn't been with anyone since our breakup, which is extraordinary because she is in college and reallly pretty.

Hmm, well unlike guys, girls don't usually sleep with their Ex's just for ex. Unless they're horny and have sex with an ex to justify it. Let me explain, I had sex with an ex, I still have feelings for him, but even if I didn't (assuming he was a nice during the relationship and now) I still would because for girls the more partners you have .. The worse the labels get. So sleeping with the same guy, doesn't increase your number of sex partners. Plus if anyone says anything, she can just say she still has/had feelings for her. Resulting in not getting called Slutty McSlutPants. Anyways, most girls wouldn't have sex with an ex either because a) he was a compete d***/ still is, it would be like gjving a dog a treat for sh*tting on the carpet. You just don't do that. Or b) still has some feeling and wants to move on, and sleeping with an ex would just cause the process to either slow down, stop or start all over. Personally, I would say she still has feelings. BUT she realizes that to her, you can't be together because of the distance. The letter in her book, is a great sign. Consider yourself lucky, the obstacle you have in getting back together is something that has nothing to do with choice or emotions really. You're not together because to her you 'can't be.' not because she doesn't WANt to be. Try to sway her thinking, be creative.

it sounds like the break up was hard for her and she doesn't want to go through the emotional attachment thing again. but she's obviously still attracted to you so the chemistry is still there.

she's probably a bit confused. don't push her. and try not get too involved or make too much of it. and don't try and turn it into a relationship. you will confuse her and likely push her away.

and yes girls do hook ups and casual sex. if they're horney, and its available, then yes they do. Absolutely.

that's not really 'extraordinary'. idk. I've hooked up with my ex and it means nothing, I just wanted sex. you should ASK HER WHAT SHE WANTS OUT OF IT. ask her what she's expecting, what she means. I doubt it's something more - ex sex is just predictable, accessible, and convenient.
