Why did ex suddenly stopped contacting me?

He broke up with me in June after 3 year long relationship. I was the on who hurt him. Firstly he expressed clearly there's no chance he could come back. I was chasing him but stopped some time ago. After that he was the one initiating contact. Last weekend we've met and he told me he loves me, misses me a lot but still can't come back. He kept texting during the last week. At some point I told him I don't find it a good idea to stay in touch unless he wants me back. He answered that he can't stop contacting me as he is afraid I would move on and forget him. He said he doesn't want it cause he feels like things can't end up that way between us. He's not ready for the come back as well, he still needs time to figure out if our relation could work out this time. Since that conversation (4 days) he didn't contact me. I don't know what's going on - did he decide that he doesn't want anything so he will respect what I asked for or is he just taking his time to make a decission? What's going on in your opinion? Should I contact him first?

Hmm.. nobody can know for certain what he's thinking.

He could be:

- using no contact. If he's decided "right, I don't want to lose her again, I want her" and he's bought an ebook maybe? Often when you don't know what to do at all, people do that. It's one of the first things they say.

- having some time out and some time away just to think about thinks

- like you said done it out of respect

- or, the worst possiblity as someone said, he MAY have found someone else.

If I were you, I would leave him to it for a bit... if he is just thinking, you might get a response end of next week, maybe. No contact usually say 4-6 weeks, so, say after 5 weeks he hasn't said anything and nothing's appeared on his online profile, I think you could drop a line "hey, haven't heard off you lately, how're you?!" type of thing and if he replies then great :)

If there truly is no chance at all of you guys getting back together, let it go...You guys can probably be friends MONTHS down the line, because the wounds are healed...But before that, it's only hurting you guys more.

I'm not sure what's going on really. Could be a couple things. He knows this isn't for the better and is too chickensh*t to tell you. He may have met someone else...



...in the end it doesn't matter. NO GUY has the right to leave you hanging with your heart in your hands like that.

I really think you should not contact him and start your life over with someone who is a little more appreciative of you and more considerate of your feelings.

no, you shouldn't.. you're the girl.. if he truly love's you, he will be the one doing stuffs just to get you back..and he will never hurt you or let you hanging by a thread. if he still haven,t done anything or something for you two to be together, better find someone who will truly respect and love you unconditionally. :)) hope this helped..
