Was he really in love with me or was he just simply infatuated of me?

Backstory: Back in 2018, I was on one of those “dating” apps. I wasn’t really looking for anything serious back then and especially I was still getting over my past relationship, I just wanted to chat with some new people. So I came across this his profile, let’s call him “ Patrick” for the purpose of this story. So I guess Patrick and I matched and then we begin talking to each other pretty much everyday. We also followed each other on instagram, then days and weeks went by and we finally exchanged phone numbers, then we started calling each other and FaceTime everyday. We both admitted that we were starting to like each other and develop feelings but both of us weren’t ready to get into a relationship at the time, so we kinda lost touch. So now a year later, he DMs me and replying to something I posted we then basically picked up where we left off. We finally met up in person for coffee and the feelings and attraction was still there, long story short we made it official and dated for 5 years and he proposed to me and then were engaged for two years. We finally decided to move in with each other, everything was good until I was involved in a car accident. Which left me unable to work for 5 months, things were getting stressful financially and that put a strain on our relationship, even though I was receiving income replacement and still contributing to the rent and bills and still trying to cook and clean, while trying to still recover. We stopped communicating and were fighting more, until he eventually took back the ring. Two months later he decided to move out and go back to live with his parents. Now in 2023: I’ve decided to stay in the apartment that we got together, because I love this place and loving my independence. It still is hard financially, mentally and physically. So now I’m just looking back at everything while I’m here trying to pick up the pieces of my life, wondering if he really loved me or was it all in my head?
