This guy did me dirty so bad I didn't even go to the divorce proceeding to see him and i went away quiet asf for the divorce he filed for. He's engaged to someone now after a couple of years after our divorce. He took me to the emotionally darkest time in my life. I get a message from him saying "my dad died". And all i said was "condolences." I was never close to his family because they live in another country so I never even personally met his dad. I'm like htf am I even a thought your mind? You should go on with the life you ditched me for and tend to your fiance why do you think it's any of my business of what goes on around you?

Man, that sucks your ex is messaging you out of the blue like that. After how badly he messed things up between you guys too. Total low blow to reach out now over his dad dying when you've been moving on.

Honestly, he's probably just being a typical selfish dude. Even though things ended rough, you were still a big part of his life and he probably felt the need to tell someone, anyone who would listen about his dad. Even if that someone was you, after all the crap he put you through.

Now he's engaged and moved on but still thinks he can bother you when it's convenient for him. He should definitely be focusing on his fiancée right now not dragging up old drama with an ex. I'd be pissed too if I were you.

Your "condolences" response was more than he deserved after the divorce he initiated. Dude needs to deal with his own problems and leave you alone to keep healing. Don't let him mess with your head again! Block his number if he won't get the hint. You don't owe him anything.
