She leaves me on read sometimes?

So I'm talking to this girl on snapchat. So far the only reason she's given me for not being with me is that she's sort of friends with my ex and doesn't want to do that to her. (Sticky situation I know) We have pretty good conversations, sometimes she replies instantly but sometimes she just reads my message and doesn't reply. So I'll send her a picture or send another message maybe with a different topic to try and keep the conversation going. She did say she's wanted to hang out with me for a while and we sort of have plans this weekend but I'm getting the vibe that she's just being nice and not really interested. I was going to send her a message like "Hey be honest are you just a hard catch or are you not really interested in me?" Or something along those lines. I really like her and I don't wanna mess it up but I also don't wanna bother her and waste each other's time. What do you guys think should I ask her that question and see how she really feels or just keep playing it like it is and hope she's just playing hard to get?

I don't think there's anything wrong with asking her that. Like you said, why waste time and play games? But when it comes to her leaving you on read with snapchat - I wouldn't think anything of it. It's easy to open a snap in any form while doing something, then completely forget what they said. So then she probably feels silly and doesn't reply.

I know how you feel and I wouldn't constantly message her if she's left it on read, as it may annoy her
