"In person" unless I don't see him very often. It's just annoying for a guy to suddenly act different online. Like be honest from the jump, why act uninterested in person but then turn into a flirt online? I've had it happen before and then the guy got mad when I told him I thought he was trying to prank me.
I also get nervous most times when things start to get romantic so I may just turn a guy down to avoid stressing myself out. Also, it's kinda weird but I'm a lot more comfortable when I can look a guy in the face and read his body language.

If the guy doesn't have the guts to ask a girl or another guy out in person, how can it be sincere? I don't care if I was madly in love with the guy and he asked me out online or through text, I'd say no. I also don't understand how people can carry on a relationship if they've never met in person, how can you say that this person is your "boyfriend" if you don't know their family, life, and friends.
In person ,, it's more personal and more memorable. Infact I wouldn't say yes if a guy asked me out over the phone > too impersonal! surely I would hope I'm more important to him than that.
I prefer in person. What is weird is I have a totally different view of someone when talking on social media. For example: There is a girl I liked and whenever I saw her, I would just wish she was my girlfriend. It turned out she liked me back a bit and we talked on facebook but that was like the kiss of death for me because she was not actually there and she always expected me to say everything. I began to find her annoying. But, when I see her, I like her.
I always do face to face; it's not just because I'm from a different generation, it's just common politeness. We can text about common stuff; how our day was, the weather, what we want to do later. But asking someone out is special. It deserves a personal touch.

I'm OK with either method. We communicate a lot through both channels.
in person. for the same reasons as you.
People are more likely to reject via text message than face to face. It takes more guts to reject someone face to face than it would be online. So it would be the best for you to ask him face to face
Completely indifferent to which. People with terrible anxiety like myself may have it much easier asking over text/IM
I will always prefer to ask someone in person and face to face. Unless we are over 100 miles apart from each other. Of you really want to go out with someone. Driving a 100 miles. Is only a 90 minute drive away.
Face to face
It just shows the genuineness of the asking out
In text/social media just shows their reluctancy/ lack of respect/ taking for granted since they dont find it worth the efforts to ask out face to faceWow, judging by the results, guys seem to be the ones who prefer being asked in person rather than text. For me it doesn't matter, in person is better but if she's nervous or shy to bring it up then I understand.
Eh, i think I prefer face to face, even if it's more nerve wracking. My boyfriend did both, over text when we started dating and in person a few months into dating.
I prefer real life for that kind of stuff but I am in no way against it being asked on social media or anything if I knew the person and have talked with them.
If I newly know you then face to face , if not then by text
I'd rather be asked out in person. That way I could look at his face and see if he really mean it or not.
In person. Social media is also okay. But it would really be a plus if a guy would ask a girl in person. You can tell if he's being serious/genuine/sincere in person. Plus I'd look at him more as a man with a backbone.
I think face to face is more personal than social media it shows you actually are into them on a more personal way
I was going to agree with you but then on reflection what if you don't feel the same way - Online gives you a get out of jail card
I think Social media is better for me to get asked out cause
i believe it's more easier to handle it.In person. I don't use social media and texting just feels less sincere.
Nothing can compare to the feeling you get when asked face to face 😍
The reason why I only ask a guy out by text I dont see much the guy and we do not live that close
I kind of hate social media or communication through cellphones/computer. Face to face is the way for me.
More in person but by text is okay. Not my social media because that isn't that great to do.
