My preference changes, not on a day to day basis, but in some cases it's preferable to be around mores dominant or more submissive people

What's the point then? If you're a dominant and she's a dominant how do you expect it to work out? Obviously she's not going to let you walk all over her. It would be wiser to get a submissive.
Of course she's not going to let me walk all over her that's the point :) submissive girls give in too easily, and I like the power struggle. In reality I'm always the one in control, the fun is in allowing them to be dominant until I feel like taking it back.
People aren't always exclusively dominant or submissive, sometimes it goes back and forth.
Um... Honestly I'm pretty sure that that if your significant other were a dominant they wouldn't let you do that. dominace is nature. Most dominants tend to prefer submissive. If you have a relationship with a dominant it might get tricky and both of you could end up hurt. Maybe tell the submissive to try and resist? That could work.

@Omega_brie I think objectifying is the way we view the person. It's not what we do although it may lead to action. You're describing being active rather than passive which is usually associated with dominance but not always. If she's instructed to do these things by the passive party is she still dominant? Also objects can still move, what makes something an object is whether it has an interior life of its own.
