Nope Nope Nope. Never. I will never take that risk of them falling back into it.

My mum’s ex fiancé decided to prioritise drink over her when she was pregnant with my little brother. He didn’t come to any appointments because he was too hungover, didn’t sign his name on his birth certificate because he got drunk and fell asleep on the park instead. It was like walking on egg shells around him, if my mum was doing something he wouldn’t look after my newborn brother, he made me do it and I had only just turned 16. He then moved out and broke off contact but sent my mum threats and threatened to beat up my grandparents.
I'm a pretty innocent pure kind of guy I deserve a fresh start in life when in a relationship I don't want to have to battle the demons somebody struggling with drug and alcohol abuse and most they have a relapse. Are you describing yourself in this situation? I'm going to have my dinner now if you're interested in talking more about this just tag me here later
No but yes? Lol I'm in recovery and so are all of my friends (we tend to stick together) I'm very surrounded by recovery at all times so I guess I ask out of curiosity. Is something like that is a deal breaker to people that aren't in recovery and never had addiction issues in their life.
It depends if I like you or not and how we get along during the relationship. That's a scary proposition somebody is a former drug addict trying to recover

No. I dont judge but I dont go looking for trouble when I dont have to either and that sounds like more trouble than its worth.
I would try if they were clearly trying their best and stopped if I caught them and tried to help.
Don't see why not. Used to be a pothead myself. It's promiscuous people I see as undateable.
No if you have delved into hard drugs I will never trust you
i would date someone who's still addicted like i need me someone whos tryna get fucked up all the time w me
That's sad.. that life sucked. Hope you get out alive ❤
Yes I would hun. Depends on the drug they were addicted to. People certainly deserve 2nd chances.
Nice answer. Thanks for the input
Absolutely not. I'm not about to date someone who lacks self control and wouldn't be able to have fun in the situations I enjoy.
Yes i can date her as long she doesn't get back to her addiction

It really depends on the person. Lumping them all together, I've had "recovering" addicts pawn over 2000 worth of my stuff
Sounds like quite the experience
The problem with addiction. You will find they screw up and reuse. Then all your money they go after snd you become the enabler
I dated an alcoholic years ago. Never do that again.
I would. Nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes.
Was dating someone who has an active addiction. It's a nightmare. Don't do it
No. I believe addicts should get the death penalty
Date as in one night stand?
Most definitely not
Interesting. Thank you for the input. Care to elaborate more? I'm just curious about the general publics perspective.

Hello there! I knew I would find a couple more of us drunks on here. Lol
Only if he's a doctor, (some take cocaine)
