Why do many women assume that dating is the same way for guys as it is for them?

I expect young, immature girls to make this dumb assumption sometimes. But I've seen much older women still think in this naive stupid way.

Truth is dating as an average is MUCH harder than the female counterpart who has everything equal (looks, money, status). The only exception would be for some BBW women. It's tougher for those girls when it comes to dating. It doesn't matter how funny or smart they are, they will have a tougher time than a funny fat guy. Just a FYI I always treat them nice unless they give me a reason not to.

Because they only chase the 1 percenters (rich, famous, super confident and good looking guys) and assume most guys have that much pull

I am a woman. I have always understood that early stage dating is tougher for most guys when all else is equal (looks, money, etc.)

Disagree. Dating for women can be hard too, but maybe in a different way than it is for guys. As a woman, especially for attractive ones, it is hard to figure out a guy's true intentions. Men, like women, play games, ghost, mislead, etc. This is not specific to one gender.

If you meant that it is harder for guys because they have to approach and pursue, then yes, it might be more difficult for guys in that respect, but women have our own set of challenges when it comes to dating.

Yes but women have MORE OPTIONS period, especially if they are attractive. An equally attractive guy will have more options as well but nowhere near the power of an attractive woman. This poll was meant to be for the early stages of dating.

If you are man you have to sink or swim. You have to put your ass on the line. Contrary to popular female belief most men don't enjoy doing that.

I've stuck my neck out plenty of times and have gotten more pain than reward for it. I'm going to have to continue this but I'm getting really fed up with it.

More options does not always equal different options I think it's the same about every environment sometimes you have to widen your scope

No it’s not equal privelege/responsibility. I’m talking about the early stages of dating. This includes the approach, getting number, setting up the date, LEADING the date (planning everything... leading the interaction), first kiss, first move to have sex, etc.

That’s the man’s job and it’s a job most women don’t seem want anytime soon. But you know I accept that inherited shitty ball check task. But I’m mostly fed up with women not appreciating it.

Think that speaks to the level at which your approaching certain women. I would take the time out to find out what qualities you want in a woman and then research how you would get that quality of person's attention. Simply stated just try a different approach with different people. Go on bumble if you want a lady to start the conversation first

I am on bumble. I get where you are coming from. However I think my geographic location isn’t helping either (much higher ratio of men to women here). I’ve always had much better luck visiting other cities.

Anyway this poll and rant won’t magically change anything. I get it. Just feels good to vent sometimes you know?
