Stingy cheap boyfriend doesn't take me on dates but doesn't want others to?

So I mentioned to my boyfriend how guys wanted to talk to me and catch up. I joked and mentioned how I could have them buy me things and take me out for the free food. He was like " don't ever play me like that" saying how no other guys should be buying his "girl" stuff.

Yet he doesn't do shit. I've mentioned it in a way before to him and hinted towards him being cheap. To which he said he's not and that we can go places just not super expensive restaurants and stuff.

He's claimed he was broke a few times he's appears to have recently bought the new COD game (don't know if he preordered it) and he will go out with his guy friends sometimes, if they come to get him..

I feel uncomfortable bothering somebody about what to do with their own money but I've been hanging out with a guy friend I met over a year ago that has bought me dinner, and gone bowling with me and doing what I want. Not to mention I said I might go on a picnic with my friend, which he assumed was the guy friend I told him about and he freaked out. If he won't do it someone else gladly will.

note he does side jobs and had unemployment over the summer but he quit his job originally from a plan to move but stayed because of me.

Is it wrong if I break things off with him because of it?

It's (almost) NEVER wrong to exit a relationship when it's not meeting your needs. That's why you are dating and not married. Bad sex? Great reason. No effort in the relationship or in life? Great reason. Disrespect, verbal abuse? Get out now. Immature? Great reason.

Ok, thanks. definetly needed a guys perspective. We'll hang out at his place and when it was warmer we'd go out for walks and stuff, which was fun. I don't know what's up with him though and if he was like this in his previous relationships or he was taken advantage of.

You want that security to be settled with the new person to make sure you're not rejected.

You may even tell your current boyfriend 'I need some space' and then out of the blue you'll tell your boyfriend you're leaving.

This breaks his heart. However, it's of no concern of yours as when you finally 'leave' you already have someone else to go to which you secured whilst in 'your own space.'

In time, you'll do this again and again and again.

I'd love you to reply to this when you do leave so you can explain to us all how it all played out.

I'll keep you updated... also I'm sure he doesn't love me, we've only dated for about 2 months or so. A mutual friend did tell me that he falls in love quickly.

Who knows, he might have tried to do the same thing to me a few weeks ago yet failed at "replacing"me. For a week or so after I broke up with him, he was acting funny even though we had a whole talk about expectations moving forward. He claimed he was depressed, which I don't believe
