Online dating is, and always has been the method of using websites and apps to find people to date. Once you find someone you connect with, you meet up to help you decide if want to start dating.
I’m not going to judge online dating or those who do it since I’ve never done it and have no interest in doing so. I know of a couple success stories and a few horror stories second hand. I meet a lot of people through community engagement and that works for me.
90% of my relationships from when I was 19-24 were online. 2 who were in Canada while one was as far away as Sweden (College years) when dial up was a thing and snail mail (for those who dont know what dial up is, picture in your head a faucet running with a low noise vacuum sound). Online relationships are usually what fills your void in real life

online dating allows you to be whoever you want to be, with no obligations to veracity, attractiveness, or expenditures, and no fear of intimacy.
People IRL can be deceptive, also. Life is replete with risks!
True but online dating makes it so much easier
Only until you meet IRL. And that is always the goal.
not always the goal. Some people are satisfied with sexting apparently.

I imagine that if things got to the point where it was more than just being pen pals I would want to meet in real life.

I've seen some people I know who online dating worked for so I wouldn't really write it off... though I find it kinda hard
Because these people are lonely and desperate for relationship
I’ve done it quite often but rarely meet in person so I’m still trying
I totally agree with you
I'm not sure what I said that you agree with.
The why would part
That was a question, not a statement. I do online dating, have met many women, and I think it's great.
That is why we all are allowed to have an opinion! for me it seems like a useless waste of time. If i never meet him it's mean less.
Okay, that is what I think also. I don't want to meet a girl if I will never meet her in person!
In my humble opinion if you never meet in real life your not dating.
I meet a few back when I did it.
I have met plenty online
Answer A. No doubt
