What Do You Hate About Dating Apps?

I'll list my personal issues with them. I'm interested if you have any. After personally using daiting apps, I have to admit I've enjoyed daiting face to face rather than through apps. It feels more genuine and you 100% know they like you in some way.

Guys on daiting apps:

- Their photos are always really bad which makes them seem less attractive than they are. Pixelated photos of them drunk with the flash on or a low angle shot of them not smiling.
-Guy who want something casual but lie. Like just be honest. Plenty of people who are up for casual and you do nothing but waste the time of everyone involved.
-Not every guy, this is a personal experience of mine, guilt tripping you into a date. If I say I don't feel a spark and you then threaten to hurt yourself over it, it doesn't make me want to date you, only concerned.

Girls (from my guy friends)

-Their photos are too professional. Filters, editing, angles can mean the person you meet looks very different.
-A lot more female scam accounts than male.
-Women just trying to sell you their only fans. Apparently it hurts when you think someone is really interested in you only to find out they're trying to sell you something.
-A lot more picky than guys when it comes to looks so it's hard to get to know people.

Daiting apps themselves:

-Hiding better matches and better looking people behind a pay wall.
-leads via looks rather than personality so if someone's photo isn't the best, they could get rejected even if their personality matches.

I hate that:
1. profiles are hidden.
2. key words in names or profiles can't be searched for.
3. most women don't fill out their profiles.
4. interests and hobbies aren't used to match people.
5. there is never a "exclude results outside of my country" option.
6. there is never a "hide my profile from people outside my country" option,
7. messaging isn't free.
8. knowing who likes you isn't free.
9. pics of artwork or stuff you like get deleted.
10. nudity gets deleted and kinks and body types aren't matching parameters.
11. edited selfies or so much makeup they look like a different person are a thing.
12. swiping exists.
13. you can't undo a swipe (seriously just have a whole page i can scroll through, and let me favorite people, none of this decide righ this second and then can't undo it without resetting all passees bullshit.
14. I can't see profiles after messaging them unless they message you back immediately.
15. sites/apps have any form of timer or microtransction on anything.

Lots of things:

The scam accounts.

When people just stop responding after talking for a while.

People only being there to sell stuff.

The filters that hide who the person is. Or the photos that are I'd say to sexual.

People who basically say if your not this don't bother

Those who reply exchange a few messages and then just never reply again.

Theose who want a chat up line or seem to be annoyed when you just start with a genuine message.

I normally did something like saying hi, mentioning something that caught my attention and asking about the interests they posted.

I agree with what you say about looks as well in addition to the pay shit which leads to some putting a social media thing saying contact her there and then they never reply.

Also it does hurt when someone seems to show interest says nice things about you and talks to you before asking for something or trying to sell onlyfans or some shit like that. More so when you have little to think for yourself.

Online dating used to be more fun when I was in my 20s I actually met my Ex on POF and we dated for a few years.

Nowadays I've been off n on Bumble, many 1st dates. I briefly dated a guy for 2 months but we had met prior a yr ago at an event. He also lied about wanting to settle down her married one day, I was in a situations hip. It kinda hurt but I moved on quickly because I refuse to date a man with young kids again.

I dislike Bumble when I make the 1st move and message a guy the conversation goes flat and maybe one or 2 will ask me out. I asked out 2 guys before they accepted then canceled on me. Never again.

Some guys don't look like there picture and use old photos.
I don't like the dating apps because it feels like your shopping for a person.

Most men just want sex!

I'm attractive and look young for my age, I'm slightly curvy think of Dre Barrymore when she was younger with curves. So I belive I'm passed up for being chubby. Men will want to sleep me but not date long term.

The tone is clinical, it's like people talk off of a script. I think it's better to speak over video or meet up as soon as possible to see if we vibe in person. I had an experience when after chatting for a couple of days, we video chatted and the conversation flowed much better. He was wittier than text led on and much cuter than his pictures!

It makes me uncomfortable to go through profiles like i'm fucking hiring someone - just missing the references.

Rare were the times i had a normal conversation. Things people would talk about face to face, is somewhat diificult when texting on those apps. Like, if you were sitting across a table from someone, what would you talk about... that kind of conversation when getting to know someone.

In-person is just much better. Or for those into LDRs, communication in real time over the phone or Skype or some shit.

The vast majority of women on them are looking for attention and validation. With no real interest in ever meeting up with anybody, let alone dating.
And the vast majority of guys are looking for sex. A hook up.
What a dynamic combination of needs and wants that add up to pretty much ZERO. Sure, we've all heard of some exceptions, but for the most part it's the losers that are on dating apps. The people that have difficulty forging personal relationships with the people they come into contact with in their daily lives. You know, the losers. You'll see.

You cannot be truly attracted by someone based on looks. You need to know how they behave, and have a story with them to develop feelings.

When you date online it's most of the time too serious too soon. It makes harder to commit because the upfront commitment is just too much.

It's not that people is worse dating these days, it's just they haven't figured those things out. As result everyone has gotten extra defensive.

The solution is meeting people outside of wanting to get a date out of it. Let the feelings develop by themselves.

From my experiences with dating apps Most of the profiles are fake and scams , a lot of catfishers , people trying to get money off of you , Girls selling themselves and trying to trick you into joining their only fans or pay for sex , I prefer to meet someone in person over trusting someone over the internet , I am not saying you can’t meet someone real and legit off the internet but it’s a long shot if you do , most people lie about themselves and post pictures of themselves from when they did look good , so for me to even think about meeting someone from the internet they have to prove to me they are really who they say they are , video chat me , if someone can’t do that then they are fake in my eyes , most girls I flirted with on dating apps were all bullshit , people are sick in the head

From my many years of experience on them and things you already mentioned... most women on there no one wants to date. I'm sure it's similar for most guys too on them. It's difficult for me to browse profiles because I get turned off by most women having awful girlfriend material potential.

It's frustrating when I finally do match and she barely says anything. Only 1 or 2 word responses... where is your brain? That's seriously her effort on a dating app? Pathetic.

The harsh reality I hate that I've learned on dating apps overall is I'm not impressed by most women on them.

I don't think it's the apps themselves. I think it's the quality of the people on the apps.

But here's my main pet peeve: Sometimes I wonder if girls actually understand how much we really like them. Do you people realize that I'm swiping left on literally hundreds of profiles per day? I swipe left on like 95% of the people I see. And it's not not "ugly" girls; I swipe left on TONS of reality hot women! So if I give you a like, it means I actually like you! As a person! Not just your face. It means you're SPECIAL!

I rather get to see the person physically, online you won't really get to know much about them. When you meet someone physically you can tell what type of person they based of their body language.

And when you meet someone on the dating app, texting and chatting physically are two different things.

Agree, and women's photos can be just as bad. They're just horrible, or like your guy friends said, the opposite and are too professional (almost fake looking). I have to disagree with "plenty of people looking for casual" when it comes to women lol, very few women are looking for that, and even if they are, are just as bad at not being honest about it (probably don't want to seem "slutty" or something?). And you forgot another major issue with them... ghosting! And women are just as bad as guys for this, maybe worse (they don't feel they owe him anything - well that's true, but how about normal human decency and respect? lol). I've even had women admit that they use the apps for attention only, and no intention of ever meeting any guy off it. So yeah, the chances of actually meeting someone on them are extremely slim sadly. I think it could be a great tool if it weren't for these things and people actually took it a little more seriously.

When I see any links, nick names to IG, OF,... Just skip it as that person only need more traffic there, not to date...

Too many women just want validation, there are less gold diggers then attention wh***s,...

In my case pic means a lot, but I look more what shape she is in and idea of her beauty as most of them use filters, angles, even Photo Shop and in some cases those pics from years ago, so there will be different person when you meet her...

And most popular category, women with mental issues.

I have to jab at “interested in something casual but lie” statement.

Girls put people into one box or the other, the reality is that the most guys would likely be open to something casual just as they are open to something serious. If women find that a guy isn’t 100% all in on serious then they jam him into “casual” and call him a liar. But the problem is more with women’s brains there.

I think women are not 100% serious either, they just like the idea that they are. So women aren’t technically lying when they say they’re only looking for something serious. But when an attractive casual prospect comes along they still frequently take it.

That's true. Lots of scammers just want you to add them on Instagram or snapchat. The girls photoshop themselves. Your arm shouldn't be as straight as a ruler.

I feel like a lot of people on dating apps are simply fickle. There are a lot of options so getting bored easily is a common side effect I happen to find. A lot of people don't want to build relationships anymore. Especially for guys, I also don't understand why men lie about just wanting to keep it casual. Just say you want casual. It's made for primarily girls. Whereas girls inboxes are flooded usually just for even having a female status, have to send out tons of messages to even get a response and few of those responses actually turn into a conversation.

Instagram is actually becoming a pretty good dating site now. A lot of the best pic policy but can see into someones life more than any other regular dating app.

Scam accounts, sales of premiums or fans, and then the apps don't always hide better matches, once spent the 34.99 to get a premium account, when I unlocked the 20 something "likes" 90% were from different countries or states.. the point of these apps/sites are to find someone local, not find someone who barely speaks the same language as you...
