I am new to the office. I have been employed in the last 5 months. When I 28 M first started working she 29 M used to act nervous around me. She smiles and look down when we make eye contact. We barely talk but I saw her looking at me couple of times. I didn't read too much into it. Recently I noticed that she is more comfortable around me. I lift and I am fit so they usually ask me to carry heavy stuff in the office so this time a team member asked me if I could help him then I can hear in the background she was saying "yes you need muscular man". The other day I was carrying something heavy to my desk and then she said to me " ohhh muscles". Was she flirting? one day I was talking to one of my colleagues about weddings in general and she overhead us and after a while she asked me when is your wedding.
Two weeks ago I was playing music in the office. It was not loud. One of the employees walked by and he heard what I was listening to and he said to me this is very old music. Then my crush wanted to know what I was listening to and then she got very excited and she said "ohhhh I know this music It is the 90s music , I will switch off the radio that I am listening to for you and you will be the DJ today "
I added her on facebook lately and she accepted the friend request after 3 hours. I sensed she became more open to me in the office and she talks to me more and she doesn't avoid me and smiles more after I added her on facebook.
I asked her lately to go out and she responded that she is just started seeing someone and she doesn't want to lead me on.
I am not keeping my hopes up high but I still can't understand how can someone show interest signs then reject you. It could be that she doesn't want to date from work or she is nervous. The fact that she didn't avoid me after I added her on facebook while she knows my intentions and she talks more to me makes me wonder if she rejected me because she was nervous? How should I act around the office?
