I am your average lonely college student. All I want in life is someone to love me, and for me to love them back. However, whenever someone makes a move on me, I find myself pushing them away. I am also terrified to go out and meet people, so I have trouble breaking through to anyone. Is this normal? Is there any way to fix these issues?

That is not normal (to be so avoidant). You really want to talk to a therapist about this and to get some assistance in developing coping strategies that will allow you to keep these feelings from ruining your daily life. You're going through big life changes and will be in the working world pretty soon, so you don't want to have this hanging over your head.
