There is this girl that I met at work and we became friends. She and I would always talk and text, and she would say that when she heard about my teams it made her think of me. We both dated different people, but remained friends. I noticed a few years ago, before Covid that she would always look back when she would see me. She even kept my number after my phone stopped working when I broke it after I told her. She is way out of my league and really friendly to all (lots of guys have hit on her and she takes it in stride). I recently saw her friend at work and she mentioned that her friend and her talk about me. 1. Do you think she likes me? 2. What can I say when I get a new phone and text her?

Leagues are a construct by people that have the feeling they must place people that seem out of reach. Why do you believe in leagues? You are creating yourself boundaries where there are none and causing you to start doubting.

Now, if people talk about others, it does not automatically mean that that person is liked, disliked or anything else. It could simply b a coincidence because a topic was brought up in a conversation and a connection made. If you want to know, then you will have to talk to this person.

Now, what to say? Simply tell her that you copied the contacts from your old phone onto your new one and her name brought back memories. You wanted to check whether her number is still actual. That is about the only thing you could do without being odd.
