Girls, Why won't she tell me about him?

There's this girl I met at uni who just moved to my country. We have classes together, but we rarely talk there cause I always sit with my friends. We live pretty close to each other so we go home together on the same bus. I'm supposed to hop off 1 stop before she does, but since we're chatting I usually forget so I go with her. Based on an Instagram story, i'm 95% sure she has a boyfriend from her home country whom she met last weekend. But when I asked her about her weekend she said she just had been studying, and didn't mention any guy. Could there be any particular reason for her not to tell me about him?

Yes, there is a particular reason why she does not say anything about her boyfriend.

The reason is that she does not see why she should tell her private life to a student. This is called privacy.

Also, I am a little suspicious about you "forgetting" to get out at your bus stop. I would rather think that you want to forget to leave the bus so that you can stay longer with that person. That leads me to believe that you may have intentions with her that you don't mention here.

You should not insist if she does not want to talk about her boyfriend or if she does not mention him. Everyone is entitled to have a minimum of privacy and you should respect that.

If she just met this guy it may be too early for her to start talking about him yet as she may still be figuring it out or wants to keep it private. Either way until she's ready it really isn't anyone else's business.
