Guy friend trying to make me jealous?

When I was talking about this guy that I like, he compared himself to him and then after a while kept going on about this girl that he likes and wants to make his girlfriend. He said he wants to take her to a mountain top and ask her to be his girlfriend.

Then as I was telling him about this guy who wanted to take me to a hill top to watch a sunset, he immediately asked me for places he could take her to.

Also he asked me to choose the best watch out of three and said that he wants the girl he likes to be absolutely floored by the style of the watch.
