Why do I have this feeling that I want to message him so bad?

Hey everyone, so to make this short.. I just want to ask a great advice from y'all because I badly want to message this guy who had a crush on me a long time ago. To clear things out, I'm not expecting him to have the same feelings for me but I'm just really curious about him now I don't know but I just want to talk to him, I'm literally so clueless.. well maybe it's just because I haven't seen him in ages.. and i just got to appreciate him more now than before or whatever.. but actually the funny thing is I really don't know the reason why I want to message him, it's very confusing and I don't know how to feel anymore so please, help me with this one, i badly need to clear my mind haha

Maybe you're feeling regretful about the way you handled the situation at the time, and you want to be reassured that you were nice. Or maybe you took his crush on you for granted at the time, and you didn't savor it while it was there, and so now you're experiencing nostalgia. Or maybe you're in need of attention, and you want to know if you can cause him to have feelings for you again. Maybe you can't be with the person you want to be with now, so you want to talk to him to feel better, whether or not he still likes you, as at least you indirectly get to remind him that he once did like you.
