Are you attracted to nerds?

it depends on how much the Halo Effect and Devil Effect applies to the individual
nobody is attracted to the stereotypical nerd with the ugly appearance, bad outfits, bad jokes, childish hobbies etc. when describing a stereotypical, people will often describe a dork, geek, dweeb, incel, gamer, loser etc. and other negative qualities
sure if the nerd looks like Henry Cavill or Connor Murphy, then that's a yes but they don't look like stereotypical nerds, they're just nerdy Chads
fun fact, a lot of famous Chads used to be nerds. Zyzz used to look be the stereotypical nerd who couldn't get laid and was made fun of but ever since he became a Chad and ditched his former life, his life turned around completely. Andrew Tate sounds like a dumb jock but his father was a grand chess master and Andrew has display intellect that normally nobody expects from a "toxically masculine" fighter
long story short, only hot nerds are attractive. ugly nerds are unattractive. hobbies and interests are irrelevant and only serve to amplify or reduce one's attractiveness
What is a nerdy Chad?
You could say "no" I like chads and intellectuals
Coach, there IS someone out there for you. Trust me, man, and come down from the ledge!
LOL.
Thanks for MHO!
I'm attracted to people who are skilled in areas of interest to me: some of that might be called being nerdy. I have friends who are well-read in music, both playing or having knowledge of groups. I have a son who's an audio tech and knows how to set up a synthesizer for bands, and who also plays several instruments. He's just started on the flute. I dabble in guitar, piano, have tried the drums and the concertina. I own an old violin I would love to learn! Time's running out!
If a nerd is someone who knows a lot about some subject or skill, then I'm always interested in people well-versed in areas I find fascinating, but don't have the time do learn myself. Achievers are usually interesting.
Depends. I donโt nerd about your typical stuff like manga, comics, video games etc. My interests solely lie in the academia range. Iโm interested in biology, specifically genetics, immunology, physiology and recently got into paleontology. Iโm also into psychology. I like nerds who are not show-offs. I donโt like people who judge others for their preferences and hobbies. If he is a decent person with a good personality that Iโm compatible with, then Iโm game.
I was recently talking to doctor on a date, and she was a miss on every other topic. The moment I started talking about diseases namely my Asthma she got excited. Like I dont want to relate to her via diseases some poeple need help.
I like a healthy balence, nerdy as in insightful but dont be a lunatic start romantic feeling because my symptoms show early signs of COPD.
Same here. Iโve no interest in manga, comics, or video games, and love biology and pretty much other sciences. Some view me as not-so-nerdy, but I wear hippy glasses ๐ค and am autistic (very similar these two).
@HippieVeganJewslim we are totally the opposite.
Manga is great and having sense imagination but dont talk to me about work and make that your personality its annoying.
I am all for both, I love astronomy, biology, and chemistry, and I love anime and video games and am a HUGE Star Wars fan
If it's not star wars I don't want to hear it. I'm sick of cells and bones, I look at them every day. And rocks? Come on now. But did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?
@yallxisxtrippin Thatโs just what Iโm interested in ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ. However, I donโt discuss this with anyone if theyโre not interested as well. I also like reading books and listening to music. If the guy is into it, I can discuss that as well
@yallxisxtrippin And no, Iโve never heard of that.

nope
Anybody can be a nerd.
Not everybody can get on my level, though. That's most impressive.
Nerds? Mostly remember a lot of stuff. I like someone who broke the mold when he was born. I know I did.
I'll fuck (just about) anyone, though. Luckily, we all come with penises and vaginas, so if he doesn't get me- we can fuck and be on our way.
I would rather have a smart guy then an athletic guy so I would love an intellectual guy, even if he is short and skinny.
Nerdy women are beyond awesome
I am.

You forgot one important actor M. Myers
@TheMadLad jeff Goldblum is certainly a nerd irl too! Carlton/Alfonso still isn't that cool irl so a nerd too ๐คทโโ๏ธ And the last guy actually is a nerd, someone I know who went on a show, so technically not an actor
A nerd is generally someone who is very smart and passionate about their field of study. They pay attention and are good listeners. I'm all for that.
Or are you more looking at an 80s nerd? One who's good at math, is a computer programmer, or a gamer? Cause I work in that profession.
Doesn't have to be smart. Just have a niche interest that they are excited about.
@UnknownSwede sorry, but you're talking about a geek, not a nerd
A Google search for the definition of nerd says "a person who is extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about a particular subject, especially one of specialist or niche interest."
@UnknownSwede and Google is and forever will be in the right, when it comes to answers. Oh, wait, it gives one opinion from one person, or one source.
But of course, your answer from Google is also a definition of an otaku, which today, covers many variations, but 40 years ago was someone who only like porn in Japan.
It said from Oxford dictionary. But I guess the Oxford dictionary was wrong then.
@UnknownSwede Oxford dictionary changes year over year
By the way I'm playing Distance right now, with graphical drivers that I compiled myself optimized for my computer.
This question reminds me of the tiktok "come here" guy. He did a video the other day on women who say they like "nerds".😆😆😆
Women have a VERY skewed view of what a nerd is. When a woman says she likes a guy who's a nerd she means a handsome guy, SLIGHTY awkward and introverted. Maybe he's seen anime once. Maybe he can reference a Marvel movie once or twice. Maybe he's even casually been to a Comic-con.
She DOESN'T mean an actual NERD!😆😆😆
Leonard an Penny are Cute, but most nerds do not get that polished. And most women if they resort to an actual nerd it's short lived and she despises him the entire time. 😆😆😆
I'm not attracted to nerds in terms of the physical implication or stereotype, like how pro league of legends players typically look (obese, pale, and don't look like they workout). But I do love reading manga and watching anime. And I do game. But I'm also interested in topics like philosophy, psychology, health, technology, society, nature, and travel. The main thing is that people are attracted to others with similar interests because they love sharing experiences talking about or doing something they love.
In short, yes I love nerds.
I wish I could meet a nerdy girl. I love to read, and have passion for writing novels. It would be a dream come true to be with a nerdy girl I can talk to about a book I just finished or are currently reading, and take an interest in her reading material to.
And then she could read my novels if she wanted, and tell me what to keep, what to change, if I should change anything at all,. ::Sighs:: oh, what a lonely life one leads when one flies solo in a sky of solitude.
You should go to libraries more lmao, plenty of nerdy bookworms there
@OldWomanBySoul That's funny you mention that, because the people around here are so dumb, they don't even know what letters are! Most of them never read a book in their life. When I'm at the library, the only people I see are ones renting DVDs most of the time. Nothing wrong with that. More books for me!
Depends on how you define it
If you mean smart then hell ya
If you mean a person with zero social skill then not really no
If you mean the outfit style... awww. what even is that? 🤓 outside of glasses this days
https://youtu. be/a2R5Mx9Jp6c
It depends on if the term "nerd" is used to discuss the various strengths and weaknesses they have, or the focuses they have.
I like discussing various topics, but having someone who can't really carry a normal conversation is a huge turn-off.
But smart guys? Smart guys are hot.
I'm a big fan of nerds. I'm one, my wife is one. A lot of non-nerds have a very funny idea of what it means to be a nerd. Sure, we get excited by imagining colliding neutron stars, or ion rockets, or large language models, but we enjoy a lot of other things as well.
No, I don't find nerds very attractive, I dated some and found them to be extremely boring and very into themselves as they think they know it all since they master everything in life. Love life they suck... sorry my own opinion.
What kind of nerds? You mean like video game nerds or combic book nerds? Or actually cool nerds who are intellectuals and actually possess social skills?
All of the above; it doesn't feel real to me when I went to dinner or even if we didn't as they wanted to do their things that meant more to them then to go and do something fun like bowling, eating out, going to a pub for drinks... but to stay indoors to play games, look at their accomplishments of their career, comic books stuff. Nerds not for me.
Well they dont sound that smart to me. Someone thats smart should recognize the importance of taking his women out and investing time in the relationship.
Thats absolutely so true, and its not about being a nerd it's more to do with personality wise, and how they hold themselves and what is fun for them. I was willing to do anything with them but at the end they wanted to do only their stuff but not what I wanted ๐ it's a give and take for both parties, I think it's just fair.
Define nerds. Because guys can be nerds in different categories. Like sports or their job or even their interests. I guess women can be nerds as well because I do talk about my interests and stuff like that.
Nerd as in the guys who women donโt find sexually attractive
Yea, I like nerds. They tend to be better conversation I find. I'm also interested in so many things. I actually like it when they like stuff that maybe I initially wasn't really into because then I get to see a new perspective on something.
Of course I am, because I'm a nerd myself! :D I like being around people who actually understand, and have an interest in, the things I often talk about, but far too many just don't understand me and want to gossip about crap I couldn't care less about.
Remember what it says in the Bible: "The geek shall inherit the earth". Not the show-offs, not the popular students or the millionaires or the flashy and famous.
Well, there are nerds, and then there are smokin' hot nerds.
I'm attracted to the smokin' hot nerds.
Oh yeah, those big black glasses get my motor running.
Nope, I have a thing for manly tomboy girls.
If they can drink like man
Swear like a man
Fight like a man
I go gaga over them
My boyfriend is kind of nerdy but not in a Clark Kent kind of way but just in the activities that he participates in.
Playing DnD and Final Fantasy
Dungeons and Dragons
He plays in person.
Yes with friends
Some he doesn't know though
We met in college
No we met over the summer at the university library where I worked. He was coming out at the same time as me when it was raining and offered me his umbrella since I didn't have one and the rest is history.
He wasn't then but he is now. He was just confident that day for some reason.
Yes it definitely did and I wonder why? He's a great guy and I'm sure they are great guys too
@chris_987 When was at uni, there was a tabletop roleplaying games students club. I got curious and went there. Very cool people, lot's of fun. In most sessions, there was at least one girl. They were students of computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics and urbanism.
The guys, more than half of them had a girlfriend. Sometimes the girlfriend would play.
I think there are lot's of stereotypes that aren't just true.
People with extreme social anxiety might never get to be in the hobby, because it involves being with people. It's cool, because you will have more chances of finding people that are creative, authentic, open-minded and non-judgmental.
I tend to find myself attracted to "nerdy" women, since they're the ones who can hold actual conversations and you can sit and talk to them for hours on end about different topics about many different things.
Dealing with women who give short and brief responses to everything you talk about gets really old really fast.
If a woman is into archaeology, music, or another interest I have, that makes it even better.
I'm intensely attracted to a man who is a nerd.

that's not a nerd look, that's a fashionista look
I think when it comes to attraction, looks matter more, if a person is good looking and a nerd, people will still be attracted to them, if a person is perceived as less attractive but a nerd, then I don't think people many people will be attracted to them.
anything, there'll be always be a harsh rule above almost anything, LOOKS
I've seem some great looking nerdy girls, I like brainy.
i like wearing shortskirts for nerds i love it when they look at my legs
I tend to be attracted to nerd women. If they have OK social skills.
if they're hot, not geeky looking and not an asocial basement dweller
i am attracted to nerds, nerdet. and some of them were attracted to me yay!
Depends. Type of guy who is depicted as nerd in some US sitcoms isn't my case.
yes, there's nothing like...
"hi honey, whats for dinner"
"I made a roast in the Tritium fired nuclear fusion reactor"...
"oh... that should be very crispy!!!".
Guess I myself am kinda nerd. So I'm open to the idea with educated and passionate girl/partner for me
I prefer my chick to be smart because i hate when someone doesn't get my intelligent jokes as for dressing and looking like the girl in the picture thats a hard pass
I am a nerd... and nerds are intelligent. i prefer intelligence over looks
If they have decent sense of dressing and great humour, why not.
Well my boyfriend is really smart but I wouldn't exactly use the word nerd to describe him
No but Iโm starting to feel like I need a woman with a good head on her shoulders Iโm tired of dingy airhead bimbos🙄
if they're a nerd on the inside but don't look like one on the outside then yeah sure, but if they look super nerdy then 99% of the time not really
What nerd would I be if I said no? Dating someone with the same interests and that I can get along with is always good. Plus, who'd get references to anime stuff? Definitely another nerd.
Yes but i am a bit uncomfortale while i am speaking with them 🙈😂
I don't mind them being nerdy but I wouldn't be attracted to people who look like a nerd. Ie like the picture those are just ugly people and that is unattractive.
Ngl I am, I find smart women very attractive. I had a good GPA in college 3.7... However, sometimes I do really dumb stuff 💀
So the thought of raising a family with a smart wife. It's very appealing because my kids can become smarter than I am.
I prefer nerds, midgets, and retards.
I like nerdy stuff but do I like nerds, no.
As long as they don't wear glasses, yes lol...
I'm kind of a nerd myself so sure. But I don't mean the stereotypical one that's always portrayed in school comedies
NO 🤮
Iโm a nerd myself, I want the opposite
I WAS one.
The irony was that at our 50th H. S. reunion, a gal I was smitten with said she kinda liked me. She was so un-nerdy. Nothing ever came of it, but just remember kiddos- you miss 100% of the chances you never take!
Yeah, I remember I crushed on a nerd though it didn't end well. Basically we liked each other but he was ill mannered and stuff. BESIDES dating a nerd is quite depressing since they tend to not pay attention to you
not at all But! they can be very useful to have around
Nerd girls? Yes, especially if they can give me a challenge in chess.
If she's a genuinely nerdy girl and not a pretender or trend chaser? Then, yes, definitely.
A little bit, yeah. But the problem is most of them like Harry Potter, and that's a turnoff for me.
@XXblack88 He's practicing witchcraft! Duh!
I never met a nerdy girl though don't consider myself a nerd maybe videogames but that's it.
Yes, but of course not all of them. Iโm autistic and Iโm also a nerd. I love science, obsessed, and have trouble getting along with society. I also have hippy glasses, 🤓, which are similar to stereotypical nerdy glasses.
Probably not his physical features but definitely his brilliant mind.
intelligent people in general and usually nerds i suspect are good in decision making
LOL. So are you attracted to that?
smart people are attractive for sure
but a smart guy with a bad heart is a No No
so if it is a smart person who happened to be kind and nice
then yes.
Yes!! I'm a nerd too, and nerds are amazing โค๏ธ
@chris_987 I'm not married ๐ฅฒ
@chris_987 ahaha, yeah you are right about that, but I do have my nerdiness too ๐
@chris_987 basically, I'm a got who loves nerdy things ๐ And about that other part, I'm a very timid and shy person who's nervous about meeting people ๐ฅฒ
I'm attracted to brains. Smart men, whether nerdy or athletic, are 🔥.
that really depends on what else they are... or, are not
It's a factor, I like intelligent women who can geek out about something.
But ugly is ugly and fat is fat.
