He asked me to break up because he cannot move on from his crush?

I know him since several years ago and I've liked him very much from the beggining. Finally, I told him that I like him and since 3 weeks ago we started dating. We had sex 2 or 3 times, but he seemed very anxious and wasn't calm enough to let himself free on bed. A couple of weeks ago, he asked me what am I expecting from him, I told him that I like him a lot and him, with all honesty, he explained me that while he finds me attractive he is in love with a woman since long time ago that she hasn't reciprocate his feelings, that what is happening between us is something real but that he finds so hard to move on from his feelings for that lady (who leads him on..), and finally yesterday he told me that he feels unable to move on from his thoughts on her (they work together and he sees her there many times per week) that he 's afraid of losing her by not being available if she breaks up from her boyfriend, and he asked me to stop dating him because he will only harm me, and he finds unfair dating me while his mind is on this other woman. What can I do? I like him so much and we are spending so good time together. Why can't he just move on from her and be with me if it's clear that she will never be with him, she has been continuously rejecting him but she 's keeping him around making him emotionally unable to move on? I suffer seeing him like that and I don't know how to help him. He seems so trapped in all this situation
