Loosing interest?

I have a male friend that I guess you could describe us as in the talking phase. He has brought up how he is going to ask me out and he’s definitely interested in me. Our more than friends friendship has been going on for a few months and I’ve known him for a few years. (Side note: We haven’t really done anything couples would do yet) I however, have suddenly lost interest. It may be because I don’t have time because I work two jobs or the fact that my family doesn’t approve or like him. Anyway I have lost interest and don’t know what to do. He has also expressed that I’m the only person he enjoys being around and I know I’ll feel bad if I leave him. I’m worried because my best friend k! lled himself a year ago because his girlfriend broke up with him and I’m honestly terrified of that happening to him because I left. I don’t think he’d be one to do that or anything because I leave but I still have anxiety none the less. Sorry if this is a mess of words but I need advice.

Honesty - explain your feelings and your desire to just be friends. If he is truly a good man, he will respect your wishes and boundaries. If not then block and avoid him
