My boyfriend and I decided to rent a place to stay and split that. We also wanted to spend the night cooking together so I went to get the groceries. I don't work many hours as I am still in school so I want to ask to split it but I don't want to end up looking stingy. I spent around $55 on groceries. Is it too stingy or should I just ask him to split?
U both already have decided to rent a place to stay. So both of you have responsibility to split bills for each & every things that u both use/share. And bychance someday bcz of over expenses, if any one of u don't have money to pay, then both of u must have that much understanding that other person have to pay without making any issue. But it's totally right to ask your boyfriend to split, nothing wrong. Go ahead. All the best
If you earn less, split the bills in the same ratio. If he earns twice as much as you, he pays twice as much towards the bills. Works for us here.
