Girl cancel first date last minute?

kandl97

Hello. I recently met a woman online, and she suggested we go on our first date today. She wanted the guy to plan the date, and it seemed we shared good chemistry in anticipation. When she asked me to pick her up for an off-campus outing (we're both students), I proposed visiting a public park about 20 minutes away by car, but she wasn't keen on the idea. I then suggested another local park, just 5 minutes away, which she agreed to. Following this exchange, her responses became brief and less engaging. An hour before I was supposed to pick her up, she informed me that she wasn't feeling well, apologized profusely, and canceled the date without suggesting a future time to reschedule. I responded politely, saying, "No worries. Thanks for letting me know. I hope you get better soon." She thanked me and apologized again.

I feel that the decision to reschedule is now in her hands, and her lack of initiative might indicate disinterest. Consequently, I'm inclined not to send further messages. However, was she really feeling unwell? Would it be appropriate to check in on her well-being after a few days? And if I do, should I bring up the possibility of rescheduling our date?

Thank you very much for your advice.
