Guys, older guys would you have a serious relationship with a younger girl or just fun?

Since I can think back I've always felt much more attracted to older men, emotionally and sexually. I like men in their 40s the most but I don't mind older than that either. Many of my friends are quite a bit older than me too

For the longest part I've kept any relationships to them purely sexual. It avoided problems and everyone was only interested in that anyway.

But things have changed and currently I feel like I want more than just some fun. I tried to date a few guys more seriously but it never takes long for them to show they real intentions.

I'm afraid that it will take me a long time to find someone serious. Maybe I'm just not patient enough or I'm doing something wrong I don't know. Guys would you try a serious relationship with someone half your age or younger? An 18 year old?

The further apart in years it’s usually hard to have many things in common, it’s okay if like the same music, like the theatre and a bunch of other things, it’s just harder when you find it hard to relate to someone much older / younger. I had fairly long term relationship with a girl younger than me, it can take more work and commitment

Yeah it does but you can go outside limits if a lot in common or a large mutual attraction

It would be hard to deal with the uncertainty.

I look like my teenage self still, and if she's my age but looks very young like I do, she will likely live a very long time. But if she's much younger, she might end up aging fast, and I won't know until years and years later...

We'd most likely have nothing in common. Something that would only become more apparent over time. That might be ok when a guy is 20 but at 40 to 50 it's just a roller coaster ride. Also the fact that she's drawn SPECIFICALLY to men in thier 40's suggest she has some sort of trauma. She needs therapy, not me.
