Is it a good thing to be strange?

I am strange, I’ve always been and I’ll always be.

I find people who act normal - so boring and uninteresting- I can’t fathom being friends with them.

Today, I was told by someone “You’re strange and that’s great, because it’s boring to be normal.”

Now, I don’t truly care what XYZ thinks about me, I am who I am and I am not changing it for no giving the comfort to the boring people out there,

but is it a good think if a man/woman thinks you are strange and in a good way?

Lots of the time I do think it could be self-sabotaging and hopefully in a handful of cases, educating.

I was grossed out when I saw people bring shirts for the chiefs when they went to the Super Bowl even if they claimed to be 49ers fans, they were prepared to “switch” over.

Many put on the shirts and choice to “celebrate” anyway lol

So many were not from their state I believe Missouri and yet all these celebrities were wearing and all. Taylor swift her boo and maybe her friends because they followed her and her boo? 🤷‍♀️

It was gross everyone jumping on the bandwagon just because everyone else was and they seemed like the “best.”

Like choose a team for other reasons be more genuine- I don't know.. 🤦‍♀️

but yeah some variety at least would be a bit nice.

at least we see unity in play and people being able to clearly distinguish what works and who the winners are.

Not even that much unity and patriotism is seen amongst countries/nations and their parliaments and congress and all.

Yes, I'm very strange too. Whether that's a good thing or not I'm not sure. Most people can't really handle it though, because most people can't handle originality, unpredictability and eccentricity. They like to say they can, because they want to virtue-signal, but no, they can't.

If it's the good and interesting kind of strange, that's very good in my book. That's what I always wanted was a strange (the good way) girlfriend when I was single, and I love that my wife is strange in her own good way.

The very quiet type of strange ones can freak me out a bit, but the sociable and fun-loving eccentrics are my favorite people! They're so interesting to talk to and hang out with.

To be strange is to be a mystery. People like mysteries because understanding something removes the possibility that something magic is going on. And not understanding something reminds us of when we were children.

As we age we find understanding is usually in lock step with disappointment so being someone that others can't understand is being someone they can't be disappointed in. But at root that's serving a defensive function and the pride in being strange is a facade that only works because the thing it covers is so distant, bland, and agonizingly common.

To an extent, yes. I think unique or eccentric is really an intriguing quality in a person. Being unafraid to be whomever you truly are is both confident and attractive. Some people definitely just are weird and try to slap the “unique” or “eccentric” label on it when they really just weird.


Dress with a retro style? Eccentric, good.
Wear the same t-shirt three days in a row and talk to yourself? Strange, not good.
