What's the difference between AP classes and accelerated classes?

ap - advanced placement. That means it's a normally paced class but they skip a lot of the prerequisite stuff you should already know. accelerated means they cover things faster.
so, if you knew (say) Calculus I already, you might take AP calculus II. But if you didn't know calc I, you might take accelerated calc which is both calc I and calc II combined into one class.
Accelerated classes are classes where they teach all the material in a short amount of time and AP classes are college level courses that the college you attend in the future might you give you college credit if you get at least a minimum score on the AP exam at the end of the year.
Accelerated is a designation set by the school so it could mean different things. An AP class teaches you the material that's on a specific AP test and prepares you for that test so you can earn college credit. So in an AP class you should learn basically the same thing no matter where you took it.
