College students, how do you deal with taking 3-hour long lecture courses?

A friend told me when I was 19 that people are stronger then they think and I read people can usually handle 10 to 15 times more pain than they believe that are capable of handling. A 3 hour lecture might seem hard but you can do it if you have to, you just have to have trust that it will work out.
I think the professor would normally have a break at the halfway point; I doubt they wanna lecture for 3 hours straight either. I don't think I've ever had a 3 hour lecture class though so maybe I'm wrong, but I have had 3 hour art classes and usually there was a short break or opportunity for a break about halfway through.
I teach a class at night and it runs for 3 hours. I do not give a break but tell my students if they have to use the bathroom they can just get up and go. I usually lecture for the first half and give a lab exercise for the second half, that way they do not fall asleep on me.
I enjoy them! You picked the classes you loved right? Why would you dread 3 hours of a topic you’re passionate about?
Even when I'm taking a class I enjoy, at some point, my mind starts drifting away and I get bored or distracted. The same thing happens for my classmates. At the beginning of class, everyone's focused and taking notes. 70 minutes later, you notice some people playing on their phones, sleeping, or doing whatever.
