Granted, this doesn't solve the issue in grocery stores, hospitals, etc.. What's next... nurses with firearms? Librarians with revolvers?
Not an educator. But I have my concealed carry license given to me and approved via a sheriff's office. Iv never committed a crime aside from some traffic speeding I never got caught for.
Iv no desire to hurt anyone or myself.
I know how to use it, and have lawyers ready to back me if I do.
It's there when I'm in a situation I'd rather have it and need it, than need it and not have it.
And if something happens I'd like to be able to stop it.
MOST all legal gun owners will say the same.
Most of the gun violence is from people who shouldn't have them criminals.
The rest is from people who should and use them properly.
The gun nuts that do these shootings a good number of them have been stooped COLD by legal gun owners male and female. A bad person in the wrong place whem a good person had the means. End of the bad guy.
They pay teachers like 30k a year and make them buy all of their own supplies for the year. Can’t even give teachers pencils and they’re talking about giving teachers guns, lmao please.
Maybe mentally unstable teenagers shouldn’t be able to legally purchase assault rifles. Sounds like a better suggestion than putting the pressure on untrained teachers who don’t get paid enough to do that shit.

And no one sees anything wrong with this entire topic 🤦
you know a country has failed when this type of shit is normal and is part of training day one of school.
"ok class... calm down now, and sit quietly, and don't you ever think of acting up kiddos, or I will blow your brains out on the spot, got it?"
nope...
True, but used to teach guns in school... back when they had a purpose... shoot critters to eat. Now the purpose is to protect yourself from someone else with a gun.
do you have a family?
do you have guns in your house?
do you have grandchildren? how ready would you feel right now, to kill your own family, if you had to of course... just think about that, getting up every morning thinking "is this going to be the day, in which I blow their brains out because I just have to?"
most members of my family have a gun or have shot one. noone every hurt anyone but if they come back to loot again just never know.
I wouldn't let the children near em, but if they wanted to I'd teach them.
you lost me at "kill my own family". what? don't watn to shoot or hurt anyone.
the shooter tried to kill his grandma first
my question is, how ready and willing you are to blow your own children or grandchildren brains' out on the spot
because that is what would be asked of teachers, to be ready and willing to kill someone they are supposed to care the most, almost as if they were their own children
I suspect a teacher facing a real threat from a student may hestitate... some of them. But the next teacher/admin that sees that body on the ground will shoot first and ask questions later.
@lightbulb27 yes, sure...
but I am asking you about an actual situation in which you are the one in their shoes, because it could seem easy to request someone to kill people and to even expect it as their duty, if needed
my question is for you personally, how willing and how ready would you feel about having to do something like that...
@NathanDavis I agree with @lightbulb27. The teacher might hesitate the first time. Because they might think, "yes, he's weird, but I think he's a good kid at heart. He wouldn't actually pull the trigger, would he?". But then he starts shooting. And you see the blood, and the lifeless bodies. And you know that it's real. Then you can't deny the reality of what's going on. At that point you HAVE to take action. He's no longer a student. He is the enemy!
@NathanDavis: LOL, you’re still bitter about being exposed as a lying charlatan. You did it to yourself. But keep making a fool of yourself.
Lots of people are capable of neutralizing an active shooter.
Apparently Nathan has beef with Lightbulb and Avicenna has beef with Nathan? But I don't know what this is about.
No beef with anyone… don’t know him. Just communication. Sounds like history w other two unresolved
@Jamie05rhs just to clarify a third time... I do not disagree with lightbulb
but the question here is for educators and how educators would feel about having to kill one of their students
well, I am an educator... and my point is not to disagree with @lightbulb27 my point was to ask him, and now I ask you too
I am asking you both to put on the shoes of an educator or a parent, how would the two of you feel, if you were both asked to do the same, how willing and how ready would the two of you feel if you had to kill one of your students or one of your own children, because this is similar to what would have to be asked for teachers
that is my only question that everyone keeps dodging, you all here seem to think "no, only teachers have to deal with it, not me" well, this is my question to the two of you, if it were your students, or your own children acting up and wanting to kill you guys or kill other innocent people, how promptly would you be and blow their brains out
it is a simple question really, personally... I would never do it, and I could not go to work every day as an educator, knowing that I have to be ready to kill my pupils if the case is needed
but, what are your answers to this question @Jamie05rhs @lightbulb27 and no beef here at all, this is not a fight, just a conversation
You took my question in a different direction. Review it if you wish. To answer your question… I’d feel hesitant with most anyone if I’m the first one being attacked or engaging. I’d probably not shoot first. If I hear shots down in my wife’s school class and I see someone threatening little kids… I’d shoot if armed and feel bad and then try to save them. My goal in life is to not kill anyone and I’m a bleeding heart liberal disguised as a independent republican. But gotta protect the innocent against the narcissistic selfish and evil that occurres and they need disciplined.
@NathanDavis I would be very upset about it, but I would do what needed to be done.
If someone is murdering people in cold blood, they need to be stopped. I don't care who they are.
I'll give you a corellary example:
What if you caught your son raping a girl? Would you not beat his ass, just because he's your son? No! You would beat his ass anyway! (At least I certainly would.)
@lightbulb27 yeah, I see where you're coming from...
and as you see, even in a hypothetical scenario is already difficult to clear our minds now imagine to subject every teacher on the nation to this task, the task of having to kill someone any given day
imagine how messed up could it be to go rest at night, and wake up every morning with this scenarios in your head all the time, it would be of a great interference and in detriment of the already burdened and overwhelmed teachers in America
so no, it is never so simple as to give everyone guns and expecting to kill of each other in the name of "duty"
@Jamie05rhs i would not beat his ass, no
I would make sure he goes straight to jail though, and for many many years to come
It would be better to have an administrator or two armed rather than a teacher that has regular contact with students, and the administrator would need to be comfortable with that (not all would be). Teachers have enough to keep track of already without having to worry about securing a firearm. Also, don't underestimate the potential for criminal or civil liability on the part of teachers or administrators who discharge a firearm, especially in leftist jurisdictions.
exactly my concerns. have to make sure teachers are mentally well. they could be attacked leading to other risks.
Are you saying in leftist areas... there's more risk of firearm incidents? because they wouldn't accept it?
I can understand some kids being in fear of guns after what they grew up with. I wonder if they feel more comfortable if some people are armed... like police. That make me feel better. I wouldn't want to go into a school that has no defense against assasins.
Funny that you (correctly) mention the teachers' mental health. A nearby school district to the one my mentally ill ex used to teach at (and may still teach) is now allowing teachers to be armed. The thought of her possibly being armed around small children is terrifying.
I'm saying that in leftist areas, prosecutors would be more likely to prosecute a teacher for firing a firearm, and good luck with a jury in a civil trial in some place like DC or New York.
makes sense, wouldn't want to be caught in liberal areas making split second decisions.
Women's emotions are fascinating and they can seem crazy when their emotions are not supported. When they have the emotional stability, can be sweet as pie and stable. Certainly makes it more tricky when someone is having a bad day... I can't imagine Principles want teachers armed.
Thank you, was hoping to hear your view.
It have to be optional, not required. Teachers with such skills and qualifications make more and higher demand.
It's looking like we will need Dr's with revolvers now...
No. I don't teach in a school, or country, that gets shootings every week. I also wouldn't feel right even IF I was dumb enough to teach public school in the US. It's just a really sh*t idea to arm teachers. Just hire one or two school police officers, like many schools already have.
Yeah and then invariably the teacher will fail to protect the children or turn on the children, and the next step will be to arm the children, right?
Only in America...
No it would make me feel unsafe. It's way to easy to trigger people these days, which would scalate to weapon being drawn or used. It's safer with no weapons so they can only use fists and lose items when going at each other.
No. If others felt the need to bring a gun every day to school, I'd feel less safe.
My man, more violence never stops violence.
The solution lies in changing the form of gun ownership and gun use in the country
If it was me I would start hiring vet's with hand gun training as cooks cleaners t. a gym help spotter's ground works and I would take time to hire a few cons for I they need to be needed and apart of something they can see things differently and point problems before they kick off give them a job and tell them why you want them help see throw B s like bullying and drug's to help the kids you might miss
Not a bad idea!
I worked as an administrator in a K-12 school district. I would volunteer to be armed if I was asked. I would definitely feel safer. I was working there when Columbine happened and all of a sudden security was top priority.
Free shooting training part of recruitment package🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫
There are 130,000 schools in the US alone. That is a massive undertaking and ridiculous.
not required, freedom to choose.
would never work. it was a stupid idea from day one. Lawrence really dissects it:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/aC1VAPJ5cgEIt's needed but as we seen with school cops when shit hits the fan it still with that gun
Run, fight or hide
