Nowadays college is necessary to get a well-paying job in most businesses. At least some higher education than high school is, at least. Sadly, college isn't for everyone and some people can't do it. It took me 10 years to graduate, and I had to finish it up online (before COVID-19).
If they go great. But if wouldn’t force them or encourage them. It’s literally their decision. I can only offer guidance. Id probably pay for their school
Absolutely. I’ll pay for everything while they’re in college just like my parents do with me. Not going to college is not an option. And they have to major in something that’s gonna get them a job.
I would be fine with what ever. If they go for what makes them happy then that's all that matters to me. Also education is free here, even higher educations. I won't pay shit.
I'd encourage education. But not necessarily college/uni. Though I can see benefits of the life experience, career wise they maybe better getting into workforce and doing apprentiship
You don't need a degree if you want to have a good job. So, if they'd want to go, great. If they don't, still good, as long as they find a job that they like doing.
I would encourage them to do whatever they want to. If going to university is that then of course. I would pay a portion of the fees. We have good student loans here.
I don't see kids in my future. I can't even imagine having a date. If this becomes a reality, then I would encourage them to seek what they'd like to do, whether it be going to college or a vocational school where they learn a trade.
They can do whatever they want, as long as they do something. If their plan is to stay at home and live off of me, that's a no. What to go to college and get a degree? Fine. You prefer to be an apprentice? Cool for you. But no leeching.
It's their choice. Colleges aren't necessary for every career and sometimes it does a lot harm so only if they really want to. But I'm here if they need money for it
Totally depends on their career choice. You should only go to college if your career path 100% demands a college degree i. e. doctor, lawyer for example.

Congrats on graduating

Thats nice

Its not so much of majoring in something that gets you the job but its about having the experience to match so that you stand out for the job
I would be fine with what ever. If they go for what makes them happy then that's all that matters to me. Also education is free here, even higher educations. I won't pay shit.
Lmao
I'd encourage education. But not necessarily college/uni. Though I can see benefits of the life experience, career wise they maybe better getting into workforce and doing apprentiship
Sounds good

True

I’d continue to avoid loans at all costs
Ours are interest free until you earn a certain amount and the first year is free
Parents are throwing their money away unless they are going to become a doctor or a lawyer or something that actually needs a degree.
I agree
People usually do not get a degree (nor is one offered) in things that do not require a degree.
@msc545 There are many degrees offered with no specific job availability attached. This is the problem with college.
Which degrees?
@msc545 I don't have time to list them all but Criminal Justice is a huge one.
I will agree with that - degrees in Criminal Justice are usually offered by private scam schools like DeVry.
I'm not going. If any children of mine wanted to go, I would support it, but I would never tell them too.
I understand
I don't see kids in my future. I can't even imagine having a date. If this becomes a reality, then I would encourage them to seek what they'd like to do, whether it be going to college or a vocational school where they learn a trade.
I see

Right on
Yes, and hopefully they'll go to the colleges and courses we have already picked for them.
Haha
I would encourage but not force and if they really didn’t want to it won’t be the end of the world. I’d pay for their college as well.
Nice
Not unless 1) they want to and 2) it's absolutely necessary for their career.
Right
Their choice, their life. However I would highly recommend and encourage it and pay for it.
Nice
I really hope they do want to go though! 🤞
I would encourage them and I will pay for it if needed
Nice
I would encourage them to pursue a lucrative field, which might require a university degree or might not. If they do so, yes, I will pay for it.
Cool cool
I have two daughter's who went to college, instead of taking out loans, they are working as strippers.
Um wow
It's their choice. Colleges aren't necessary for every career and sometimes it does a lot harm so only if they really want to. But I'm here if they need money for it
Sweet
what harm?
