Is it bad if I don't have company loyalty anymore?

march of this year i quit my job of six years.
i could not keep working 60 hours a week & when i asked my district manager for a raise to 18 qan hour i was told don't pay assistant managers that.

so i give a months notice to my new manager who started just to be nice.

was having a hard time finding a job found out the new manager of the store was giving me a bad name.
so i reported her to the ceo & hr then the district manager found out then told my past company that i stole.

i had a job at walgreens a few weeks ago but i texted the store manager & told him i quit no two weeks notice.

after what happend to me at my last job i have no loyalty for any company anymore !

Dude, I don't blame you one bit for being over company loyalty after all that bullshit. Six years is a long time to give a place just to have them screw you over like that!

Asking for 18/hr after that much time seems totally reasonable to me. Then to lie and say you stole after you already quit is so dirty. I'd be pissed too.

In this economy companies will take advantage of workers any chance they get. They expect us to be loyal but bail the second it's convenient for them. Screw that!

Don't feel bad about dipping from Walgreens quick either. Gotta look out for #1, and I'd want out too if I were you after all the stress from before.

From now on do you man, get your money and don't lose sleep over some faceless corporation. They won't do right by the little guy. Keep your head up and don't take crap from anyone. You deserve way better, bro!

Years ago people would spend their whole working life working for the same company. There would be raises and promotions. The owner treated the employees like family and the employees were loyal to the company.

Now if a company has two bad quarters in a row the company lays off half the staff. As a result there is no loyalty to the company either.

I don't blame you for doing what you did. At the end of the day they are just using you to make money and if they could find somebody to do the same job for less money you would be out the door.

i mean it's fine not to feel like you don't have loyalty to the corporate world. the reality is there is very little loyalty given so you shouldn't feel compelled to be overly loyal

but make sure you leave jobs the proper way. this is for your benefit. leaving jobs without the 2-weeks notice can be reflected negatively on you if you ask for references or potential employers call past employers to verify employment.

Be loyal to an ideal, or a design, or a type of product, or a lifestyle, or a person who has your back, but never a company.

Companies aren't actual things, they are a label. A company is only as good as those who run it.
