What the fuck is wrong with school kids today?

Why was no one stopping this beating and instead filming it on their phones? I hope when something like this happens to these little shits, that people will not help them either and film their life-threatening beating.

Law enforcement officials in Missouri arrested a 15-year-old girl over the weekend for allegedly assaulting another similarly-aged girl in a horrific incident that was caught on camera.

The St. Louis County Police Department reportedly got a call about the fight around 2:30 p. m. on Friday and when they arrived on scene, they discovered the victim with a severe head injury. The victim was transferred to a nearby hospital where she is in critical condition.

The footage shows a black girl, who appeared to have a significant size advantage, throw a white girl on the ground and start to viciously beat in the victim’s face with her fist.

The victim tried to get away from the attacker, but the attacker grabbed her on the ground and threw her on her back against the pavement. At that point the attacker grabbed the girl’s shoulders and repeatedly slammed her head into the pavement, causing life threatening injuries, as other individuals stood around and watched and recorded the attack with their cell phones.

“It is a tragedy anytime children are hurt,” the school district said. “Bullying and fighting in the community is an issue for which we all need to take ownership and work towards a resolution for the sake of our children. The Hazelwood School District offers our sincerest condolences to everyone involved, and will offer additional emotional support from our support and crisis team to those in need.”

“We look forward to continuing to partner with our community for the sake of our children,” the statement continued. “Please be kind and respectful of the families involved during this difficult time and pledge to help work toward the betterment of our entire community.”

Wooow this video is wild! Those kids just standing around recording instead of helping are messed up.

I don't think it helps to say we should let them get beat up too though. Violence ain't the answer. But definitely people need to step up and stop bad stuff from happening.

That big girl is crazy strong beating someone's head into the concrete! The other one could've been killed. She needs to be punished for sure.

I just feel bad for both families now. Like that could've been anyone's kid getting hurt. Stuff like this is why we need to teach young people conflict resolution and empathy more.

Hope the victim recovers ok. And hopefully the school does more to prevent bullying so this doesn't happen again. Just a sad situation all around.

It’s called “The Bystander Effect” it happens when a lot of terrible things like this do because people watch it, think “oh my god” and then watch bc that’s all they can do, even when they think of intervening. In a similar vein, a lot of neurodiverse people experience something called “executive dysfunction” which is where a person wants to do something, or has to do something, but they cannot find the means to give themselves the physical command to do it, often leaving themselves in the same position, often sitting around and spiraling into anxiety as they realize they need to do this specific thing but they aren’t and they don’t know why. Sitting and doing nothing is a surprisingly common psychological reaction to a lot of things, the biggest theory as to why has to do with evolutionary traits of self-preservation that say “if I get involved I can get hurt or worse, someone else will handle it.”

As for the world nowadays unfortunately it isn’t what it used to be & what once was a hero in the past is a rare find nowadays & nowadays the only thing you find is the bystander effect.

You are walking down the road with a group of people & the next thing you know you see two cars on fire, all smashed up, people inside screaming for help. Ok instead of calling for help or being heroic I think I’ll pull out my phone & start filming & taking selfies by the burning cars. WTF People?

Keeps happening and nobody does anything. A girl in Virginia killed herself after she was bullied, assaulted on camera, her family knew and still wasn't enough to get them to pull her from school before she killed herself. That's one of many.

I know, it's sad but a lot of bullied kids commit suicide, even grade school kids.

Middle school and high school kids tend to fight a lot... It's not a new trend. Back in the 90s there were multiple fights every day in schools. Girls use to rip each other's hoop ears out and blood would be all over the floor. That was pretty common... People use to get stomped by like 5 to 10 people during the hay day of 80-90s street gangs. There on average 25-30 students to every teacher on campus. Teachers can't keep an eye on every kid at every second.

That doesn't tend to happen with teenagers very often. Usually they see a one on one fight as honorable, thus they don't interfere. Everyone tends to enjoy a good fight until it gets taken too far. I can't claim to be any different. When I was a teenager I watched and was in many fights myself. I saw a lot of people get hospitalized. I did step in a number of times and stop fights where there was a serious mismatch and the smaller kid was really beaten and the other guy didn't know to stop, but that's not very common...

For example when I was maybe 16 I was hanging out at the park drinking some beers. Some kid comes running down the sidewalk and two guys were chasing him. A car sped around the corner in pursuit... There was a car load of them chasing the first guy. Then one of his friends saw this, and seeing his friend was getting jumped picked up a 100+ LB landscape rock from in front of a commercial building next to the park and threw it through the back window of the car splitting one of the kids skull in the back seat. His head was all split open...

As a teenager I'm like damn a fight's going down check that shit out. I saw the guy grab the rock like wtf you going to do with that? Then I found out... 30 minutes later police disco lights and an ambo are on the seen taking the kid from the back seat away on a stretcher and there is blood all over the inside of the car. Cops are all patting us down on the curb checking for weapons as the swept the entire park as part of the investigation... Things happen fast...

I just went and watched the video... That sort of thing is pretty typical... You had two groups of friends show up to some location outside of school for a one on one fight. They start with poorly trained boxing trying to punch each other in the face, which leads to a clench, then bad wrestling and then ground and pound. One kid started losing, and their friend jumped in which escalated to a larger gang brawl. And like a said, shit happens fast... She grabbed her by the hair and banked her skull into the concrete a couple times. From it being a normal fight to prison time took about 2 seconds and no one could have predicted that Black girl was going to go over the edge like that. But that one guy that said "ooowwww" realized it went too far, but by then 15-20 people were fighting and he's just looking out for himself.

Like I said, teach your kids how to fight. Make them strong... Talking it out doesn't work in the real world. People will hurt you and nothing hits harder than the concrete.

Looks like the Black girl is going to be charged with a first degree felony assault. Being that the White girl was hospitalized, it's considered a class A felony. So the Black girl is looking at 10 years to life in prison as an adult in the state of Missouri. There's not much she could do to fight it in court considering the graphic video evidence and obvious DNA evidence.

It happens, kids usually stay out of other ones fights (I was the only one in my class to ever jump in between a fight). Keep in mind its people who are forced to be together against their will, that brings extreme social pressure. Minding your own business is socially the best move for them so thats what they will do.

The majority of these kids come from single family households. They basically grow up with no discipline or role models. Then they have to go to these schools that are really more like prisons and if you don;t fight back you will be beat up.

Well, girls friend who was "Black" did try and help her, but two girls, one heavy "White" girl and the other "Black" stopped her.. They were actually fighting, and the bigger girl got the upper hand.. There was a bunch of kids fighting around them too.. But the head slamming was unnecessary.. The big girl and the two who helped her should be facing jail time..
